Beefcake Alert: Broadway Bares Once Again!

I'm so sick of demeaning, debasing, and patronizing female beauty pageants. Let's objectify some men too! I guess that's the goal of the Broadway Beauty Pageant—formerly titled Mr. Broadway—which will be staged at 8PM on Monday April 28th at New World Stages as a benefit for the Ali Forney Center. According to the release, the pageant "will feature male cast members representing their respective Broadway shows, competing for the title crown through talent, interview and swimsuit competitions. The contestants will go head to head in front of a panel of celebrity judges, but ultimately, the final vote is in the audience's hands." So come on, you discerning theater people: Will you vote for bathing-suited seafood from The Little Mermaid or barely clad monkeys from The Lion King? The hot turkey from November or the studly puppet (or studpuppet, if you prefer) from Avenue Q? Don't look at me. I'm voting for the lamb from Gypsy!
