Late Gay Rocker Dean Johnson Gets a Musical Weenie Roast
Dean Johnson was just another 6' 6" bald drag queen in drop earrings chanting, "Fuck third world genocide!" A legend in the gay rock scene, Dean would have been 47 this Friday, so his friends and costars have assembled to stage a birthday celebration slash benefit concert that night at Don Hill's (511 Greenwich Street) to keep his memory as tall as he was. Members of Dean's two bands, The Weenies and The Velvet Mafia will take the stage, fronted by guest stars from Justin Bond to Bebe Buell and beyond. So come and see why the Weenies had such a big Johnson.
