Spoiler Alert! What's Happening in The Happening?

Categories: Film

Ever look at a plant or a bunch of grass and just walk right by without screaming or calling the police? You're nuts! In M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening, foliage is making people stand still, throw themselves off roofs, and, most damagingly of all, spew lousy dialogue.

Here are some of the choicest examples:

"They're already dead! Maybe they're targeting us as threats!" (In other words, "I see dead plants"?)

"Can you believe how crappy people are?" (And what bad actors too!)

"The toxin? The toxin is affecting him?" (It's affecting me too, honey. I was ready to bolt by this point.)

"We're not assholes!" (Think again, sweetie.)

And finally, as said by science teacher Mark Wahlberg to a plant: "Hello, my name is Elliot Moore. I'm just gonna talk in a very positive manner...We're just here to use the bathroom." (To be fair, at least this bit is SUPPOSED to be funny.)
