Beyonce's Sticky Fingers Steal From "Fosse Hands" Again

• Well you know, she's huge on MJ so I'm sure she probably looked a complete list of his awards, saw that won that Bob Fosse award in 1997 for his Ghosts video and said "Hey, you know what? I think I'll start doing some Fosse-inspired videos so I can get noticed as some kind of dancing genius. All I'm saying is that I don't like blatant rip-offs. Michael was influenced by broadway/jazz dancers too, but he was not a copycat. Maybe she should learn that from MJ since she is so inspired by him.

• Approximately 6 million guys and girls dwell on this globe, 75% have heard of jesus. One man advertising in one single country, began this, by word of mouth. You have the internet with which to reach all of those people, all this at your fingertips, you can change anything, go for it bad boys!!!!!!

• Come on everyone - this is blatant thievery. Wake-up and educate yourself. Dance is copywritten ! ! ! She did the same "exact" moves and inserted her own ghetto-flavor. Miss Knowles copied the work of Fosse "exactly" many many times in both music videos. In addition these video concepts were yanked from Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon's genius. NOT HER OWN. We ladies hope Nicole Fosse is being compensated for her blatant choreography and concept thievery. And for those that don't know. You cannot create an homage or tribute to other artist's work without giving them official credit (not in casual conversation on a random talk show).

• Curtis says (and others imply): "There's a difference in paying homage and downright stealing...Beyonce stole." Okay, what's the difference? Please spell it out for us. How can we recognize a tribute vs. artistic "theft"? And what is the proper way for an artist to pay tribute to sources of inspiration? Until you can answer those questions, this argument is based on empty rhetoric. Whole lotta heat, not much light.

• Except that Beyonce has had no problem admitting that she was inspired by Fosse, so all this talk about blatant, non-credited thievery is BS. • What is the difference between dancers paying homage to choreographers and directors paying homage to other directors. For example, Quentin Tarantino's twist scene in Pulp Fiction is his tribute to the movie Band of Outsiders.

• You don't see Chris Brown or Usher remaking Thriller or Bad and then passing it off as their own idea. There's a HUGE difference between being INSPIRED by a particular piece or artist and just ripping the person off. That's what she does. Her moves aren't Fosse-inspired. They're just cheap imitations.

• For all of you who have no problem with Beyonce's blatent thievery, I must set you straight. As a dancer, I'd be outraged if someone stole my choreography, not once, but twice, and gave me no credit whatsoever. In the dance-world, it's no different than re-creating a scene from, let's say, Scarface, and pretending it's your own genius; dance is copywritten too for those of you who don't know. Yes, artists are inspired by other artists, but that doesn't give you the right to paint a Van Gogh piece and just add a few extra colors. I knew immediately that I was watching Fosse's "Mexican Breakfast" in the video, despite the few (very few) changes to the choreography. There's a difference in paying homage and downright stealing...Beyonce stole.

• C'mon have u seen all those artists who pay homage to MJ through the dance moves...Usher, Chris Brown...nobody calls them thieves why should Bee be treated to a different standard??? Haterz!

• Since so many dancers draw inspiration from, and dance in the style of, their idols, I take no issue with the beautiful and talented Beyonce doing the same. At least she is using moves originated by a true legend. As long as she did the dance justice, which she did, I see no harm.

• Haters in our midst. This woman is a talented genius people. I love the fosse moves and routine sampled so to speak by Beyonce'. I was thoroughly entertained by her rendtion. Her usage of fosse choreography has been in more than a few of her video's. I think she really likes that time period and the ecclectic body movents of the time. You see this in her performances. No thievery here just the biggest compliment I think.

• I knew it. It was deja vu when I watching this vid. Thanks for pointing it out, Michael. Beyonce probably figures if Madonna can pay homage to/borrow/steal from real talents, why shouldn't she? I must say Beyonce and her dancers would be too big to be real Fosse dancers.
