• I wish there was a way to send her some love. I also wish there was a way to relive memories of her during the week she was on The Mike Douglas show.

• What good source you happen to be for all of us start-uppers in our souls (and practical life), I take the occasion to thank you for the actions and mentoring and to ask you to as soon as write a post here as well to share using the community about your knowledge, as I'm positive everybodies will appreciate it.

• Thanks for the link, Jonster. The article is from 1973. It's a review of Rentzel's book, "When All The Laughter Died in Sorrow" which doesn't sound like a lot of laughs. According to Wikipedia Rentzel now lives in Washington DC. He's 65 so maybe his wild days are behind him.

• Tallulah, I honestly do not know what happened to him. If you rode with him in the elevator he would silently stare at the floor, aware of the what the neighbors thought about him. He was a gorgeous little perv. Smaller than you would think, blonde hair, blue eyes, lean and built. (Lance was a Wide Receiver...) I don't know if you've ever seen the 80's movie "Dead Again" with Ken Branagh and Emma Thompson (and Niles! The butler from the Nanny) but the final scene (amidst giant scissor sculptures) takes place in his apt (or the one directly next to it). I think the old elevator is even in the film. As for Lance -- I doubt he changed. I'm sure he's a no-longer-gorgeous registered sex offender living out his pension and leering at little girls.

• So, Jonster, what ever happened to Lance? Did he find Jesus?

• The thing about Joey is she was actually really talented. When she resurfaced on a crack binge after slapping the passport lady, I mourned her until, thankfully, you participated in her celluloid resurrection. She had a lot of heartache in her life. Incidentally, I lived next to the husband who broke Joey's heart, Lance Rentzel, her hunky Dallas Cowboy. Unbelievably, Lance preferred pre-adolescent girls to Joey and was arrested after exposing himself to a 10 year old. Ruined, he moved into an apartment on a ridge over the Hollywood Bowl after the divorce. No cars; just sidewalks and an old elevator that took people down to the street (Alta Loma Terrace, like the Pines). Of course, Lance morphed into our neighborhood exhibitionist who lived right next to the outdoor elevator. I moved in after the entire community asked him to keep his shades completely down at night when he was entertaining (damn!), but one night he and his famous girlfriend put on a little show as I waited for the elevator. Unforgettable.
