YouTube Treasure: Stairway To Stardom!

Stairway To Stardom was a rinky dink talent show on public access, in which two hosts--who always came off like used car salespeople on the lam--brought out an array of shameless singers and dancers in what looked like the side lobby of a crack den in Macao. But it was super fun and occasionally some real glimmers of talent surfaced behind the low-rent weirdness.

Check out this clip of Lucille Cataldo looking a bit like Angie Bowie and belting out a truly unique dance song called "Hairdresser," complete with some vocal riffs on the teasing process, not to mention immortal lyrics like "How can a model drink beer from a bottle?" Yeah, most of them would rather drink Clairol.
