A Barbra Barbie? Hello, Gorgeous!

If you're already asking "Barbra who?" then please leave your gay card at the front desk and do not read the rest of this. But if you know just which Oscar winning kibbitzer and auteur I'm talking about, you gotta love this photo I got ahold of showing a prototype of a Barbra Barbie doll, of all bizarrely amazing things. Whatever the genesis of this pert plaything, it's way more character-filled than the Vanna White doll I've long been ashamed of.

I can't imagine why Mattel didn't manufacture this in droves. Were they afraid Babs would be better served looking like butter than like plastic? Or maybe they thought she was already such a doll in real life. Oh, hush.
