Let's Have a Moratorium on Jacko Remarks

Well, just one, actually. Everyone from me to Bill Maher still thinks it's hilarious to say something on the order of "Michael Jackson started as a black man and he ended up a white woman." You can't turn on the TV or pick up the phone or crawl into a sewer without hearing someone say that very remark, while screaming with laughter at their own rapier wit. But I think it's time to retire it along with LaToya's singing career.

Admittedly, the line was funny--about 20 years ago when we first heard it and got off on its jaunty wickedness. But by now, it's more worn out than my copy of "Beat It", and besides, it tends to trivialize gender and race issues, blah blah blah.

Of course, I'd feel much better about sending that line to the junkyard if we could come up with a naughty new one to take its place. Help, bitches!
