Who Should Play Teddy Kennedy?

• Depends on the venue: big budget movie about a younger Kennedy-Pitt or DiCaprio. The NBC movie for TV: Alec Baldwin. Non HBO Miniseries: Glenn Close (Meryl wants to play Jackie) I agree with CMG about the Kopechne issue.

• John Goodman or George Wendt.

• My idol, Jon Hamm.

• I am with Rob From Philly, Meryl all the way. I also think they should re-make Rocky Horror and let her be frankenfurter. Who else but Meryl Streep could make you forget about Tim Curry's fabulous performance? I thought ted was great! He did a lot for Special education. And he drank. He's ok in my book.

• That blond up in the corner on the Les Hommes ad. He looks like the identical twin of my lover, who lived in NY 17 years ago.

• Liev Schreiber. He can play a boulder and make it interesting.

• Honestly, the Kopechne family did not have to take blood money if their daughters life meant that much to them. It was a Place In The Sun moment for Ted Kennedy and haunted his political life forever. If he's a murderer than Laura Bush is, and I consider neither what they did malicious which is what divides murders and accidents. But back to the post, Emile Hirsch. He is a dead-ringer of DiCaprio but a much better sphere of acting. Once you get to the 80s is when his weight balloons. Jack Nicholson who Hirsch also shares a resemblance to would make a good Kennedy in old age though his Boston accent in The Departed was at times non-existent to over the top Southie. I had a teacher from Massachusetts who basically said Kennedy accents are strictly a mix of Boston and Cambridge. Just go from Emile to Leo to Jack and call it a day. Fassbender's part-Irish (and part-German) who played Bobby Sands in the brilliant movie Hunger, Musto. He would be good but I am tired of this whole wave of getting from the UK/Ireland to do American roles.

• that fat-ass Kopechne killer should be played by Rosie O'Donnell! Damn the religious right for hating Teddy so much, since it would be fun to point out his weaknesses, but as it is we all have to love him uncritically, partly because they hate him so much!!!!! -- unlike that "bestseller" exposing Michael Jackson, have you noticed that copies of the out-of-print attack "Teddy Bare" are still on Amazon for one cent? Nobody wants them!

• After playing Dylan convincingly in the biopic 'I'm Not There', she can certainly do Teddy...CATE BLANCHETT!!!

• A CGI Alvin the Chipmunk could do wonders for that part.

• Dustin Hoffman would be perfect.

• Redford for the third act

• Leo can play Mary Joe.

• I vote for either the large rabbit or Caroline Kennedy. But who'll play Mary Jo Kopechnie?

• Meryl would definitely be better than those other choices.

• Michael Fassbender wouldn't exactly sell tickets. I say Leonardo. He's looking puffy enough.

• I have to go with Meryl Streep--as a nod to non-traditional casting.
