Cut Gay Scenes From From Here To Eternity Revealed!

The classic 1951 novel From Here To Eternity could have been From Queer To Eternity, if only the publisher hadn't caved in to Catholic group pressure and made author James Jones cut the gay stuff.

It turns out that in the original manuscript, the Private Prewitt character provides sexual favors to rich gay men in exchange for some much appreciated cash. So in the Oscar winning movie version, Monty Clift would have been a wiry little whore!

What's more, Jones knew that gay sex was rampant in the armed forces and he felt it had no bearing whatsoever on the men's performance in the field. If only he were around today to testify against "Don't ask, don't tell"!
