Did Conan Do The Right Thing?

By now the smoke has cleared on Conan O'Brien's decision to turn down that later slot, and the screams of despair from his staff, who'd transplanted their entire lives in hopes of a long-term career, have been downscaled to muffled sobs and knotted foreheads.

So did he do the right thing?

Is his proud refusal to be part of what he feels is the demolition of The Tonight Show not only noble, but incredibly savvy?

Will he land elsewhere and make it all good again?

Or is this the biggest fuckup since fill-in-the-blank left Saturday Night Live for a life of toilet scrubbing and working the highway?
