Thank God For The Boomerang Channel!

I usually don't channel-hop past 100, but the other day I did so out of sheer boredom, and at 109 I came across Boomerang, a living museum for all the cartoons baby boomers like me grew up on.

Instantly turning into a child again--admittedly not a big leap--I got to relive the joys of The Flintstones, The Jetsons, and Huckleberry Hound.

I thrilled to some old Tom and Jerrys, observed a little Hong Kong Phooey action, and even got through a couple of Scooby Dos.

A real revelation was some obscure Charlie Chan cartoon in which "the Chan Clan" plays rock tunes in between solving inscrutable mysteries!

And this was all capped off with The Banana Splits, the Sid & Marty Krofft phantasmagoria in which people in crazy animal costumes act out slapstick stunts while introducing Aladdin cartoons.

I really enjoy the channel's splashy colors, sit-commy humor, and unrepentant escapism.

Thank you, Cartoon Channel, for creating this hallowed annex of old-school amusement.

Am I alone in this guilty pleasure?
