Who Fared Best on the "Hope For Haiti" Telethon?

The stars wore dark, solid colors and radiated tasteful concern on the telethon Friday night, most of them digging up standard tunes of hope-through-the-wreckage.

I think the most powerful performers that night were:

Jennifer Hudson wailing beautifully on "Let It Be" and reminding us of her gift

Springsteen serving old-style folk troubadouring on a spare "We Shall Overcome"

Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris doing a simple and strong "Hallelujah," really hitting home

And best of all, Mary J. Blige getting to the core of "Hard Times Come Again No More" with unmatchable heart and soul.

But what did you think of Madge? Did she fare well without staging and gimmickry?
