Big Name Comes Out as Gay!

• God some of you queens are such bile-spewing evil bitches! Let the man do a freakin magazine without the wratch of bitter gay America waiting to unleash their Lee-Press-On talons. You're all just pissed you've never been on the cover of a magazine. And to Sean--Do Yo' Thang, Honey!

• He's gay, no doubt about that, ever. He may be typed now, but if he can manage to be a good actor, that could change. Will and Grace was pretty good and that it's beamed into all the houses in the land (used to be on network too!) is great progress for all the kids wondering if they are gay to see that there are people with lives and issues that are gay, even if it was all in a sitcom set up. I would never undervalue the great visibility for garden variety gays that W&G provided, provides. It also gave us a lot of Megan/Karen just in time. She did say once on the show, "Oh, honey. I'm almost 200 years old."

• Oh please, yawn. The one who played Will couldn't shut his yap about his being straight. I never really liked that show for all it's pandering and pretense- if he disses it, so much the better.

• Musto as always prophesies correctly -- the problem is that Hayes is so deluded he thinks hiding his sexuality was the sure path to be cast in Matt Damon roles -- in fact all he can play are comic spastic roles, and mainly gay ones -- when he tried a comic straight spastic in that awful Jerry Lewis TV movie a few years back, it was painful to watch -- and he stank onstage in Damn Yankees too -- the highlight of that performance was him playing the piano onstage -- maybe he has a future at Feinstein's -=- but in The Advocate he disses not just gays but the job that made him a millionaire, calling WAG a "factory" -- hey Sean stop cruising your Israeli interviewer from the Advocate for a sec and think of how because of your cowardice for a dozen years, young gays who actually do work in factories, who are not rich, famous, etc like you, have had a life a tiny bit more difficult -- still so self-congratulatory, Seannlet?

• God, I thought he was always gay. What's the big deal. Bigger surprise was that the Hurt Locker was named Best Picture.

• How is this any of our business?

• He is such a coward to wait till his career is down to Broadway level before he comes out. And then to do so in a defensive, how-dare-you, "I was always out" bullshit kind of way. Fuck you, Sean. Go back in!! We don't want to claim you anymore!!

• The Stereotype is now the Stereotype. He was much better in "Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss," chasing after hunky Brad Rowe. But then came that gawd-awful "Will and Grace" (making homosexuality safe for America with their neurotic best-gal friends) and suddenly his personal life was typically off-limits to interviewers. Meanwhile, Brad Rowe wasn't afraid to do more gay roles that weren't based on stereotypes, i.e. 2007's "Shelter."

• I read the interview and the only question I have is, why does Sean Hayes sound so angry and put-upon? He created a great character in a very funny sitcom and complains about filming the 185th episode when his residuals mean he can pick and choose what parts he plays for the rest of his life. He has been ACCEPTED by the public in everything he's done so far; he's the male Ellen. So why is he so mad? Success, alas!

• My hopes are all crushed! At least I still can fantasize about Hugh Jackman, Ryan Secrest & Tom Cruise!

• He claims all the rumors hurt, and that people now expect him to stand on a float? All that was ever required was to drop the pretense and admit who you are. Especially when you then plan to claim 'monumental' contributions to the struggle endured by those you so self-servingly denied as your peers for more than 12 years. I'm not impressed.

• Yes, most sensible people have known he's a queen but the point is he's coming out and saying it. That counts for something even if it's so late in the game.

• OH PLEASE! Everyone in Chicago has known he's a big queen for years!!

• I saw him in an Off-B'way show, years ago, and at curtain call, he dropped his pants! (tightywhities) nice basket.

• He's starring on Broadway in "Promises, Promises."

• Is Will and Grace coming out in a blu-ray boxed set or something? There has to be a commercial tie-in somewhere. Hooray for Sean anyway. It's never too late.

"I spend time with a special someone in my life," he says. But after years of being burned, he won't say another word about him or the quiet life they lead. "That's it. That's all I need," he says. "I don't need events. I don't do a lot. I live my life like an 85-year-old man. I'm just quiet. It's fantastic."

• I love the gay community. For 12 years they say "You should come out," then he does and they go, "Zzz. Who cares?"

• "Is anyone remotely surprised?" Yeah, considering he dodged the question and hid in the closet for 12 years.
