Sunny Times For Fire Island

I hear that shares in the Pines are being scooped up at a faster rate than last year, when people couldn't afford their HK apartments, let alone a regular summer retreat.

And there are new owners for the big chunk of land there that includes the Pavillion, the Boatel, the Blue Whale restaurant, and the gym.

That's all been bought by journalist Andrew Kirtzman and his partners, who I hope will usher in a brighter tomorrow on the planks, especially in the crucial months of July and August, when Fire Island is on fire.
