In her new book titled "Confessions of a Prairie Bitch," Little House's Nellie Oleson, Alison Arngrim, talks about how inspiringly close she and co-star Melissa Gilbert were -- and still are!

But it was Melissa Sue Anderson who was the bad fairy on the prairie.

Says Arngrim, Melissa Sue was aloof and unhappy and as condescending in real life as Arngrim's Nellie character was on the show.

Once, when Arngrim told her she didn't know how to play backgammon, Anderson replied, "It figures you wouldn't know how. You've always been a tad backwards."

What a fill in the blank!

But enough about her. Alison happens to come from an amazing showbiz family.

Her father, Thor Arngrim, managed such offbeat acts as Liberace and Christine Jorgenson.

And her mother, Norma Macmillan, did the voices for Casper the Friendly Ghost and Gumby, thank you.

You just KNEW Alison was going to turn out right -- as far from Nellie Oleson as I am from Melissa Sue Anderson.
