The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard Bones Meadowwoods Teeth--a movie about a woman who has a toothed vagina...yes, I mean it... Day of the Dead Surrogates Core --Let me sidetrack for a moment. Why is everyone putting down Forrest Gump? Pulp Fiction I understand but now Forrest Gump... Ok now I'll finish...-- Riverworld Waterworld Cube 2: Hypercube The Day the Earth Stopped... AND: THE WORST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! BY FAR!!!!!!!!!!! is..... Birdemic Absolutely terrible. However, I am one of the few people who can laugh at how bad this movie is. Most of my friends have either requested that I take it out of the DVD player and throw it in a furnace, or that I give them 10$ as compensation for, and I quote, "Raping my eyes and my ears simultaneously." One friend of mine actually walked out of my house. And what's really funny is that it is cheaper to buy it on Blu-Ray than normal DVD. So I watched the worst FX of all time...and I saw its badness with amazing clarity. 8x the definition that should be legally considered molesting your eye (Blu Ray has 8x the definition of regular DVD's). I wanted to do something new for a change... Now I'll say a GOOD movie. Ready? The Shawshank Redemption, and the Godfather. Rated #1 & #2 on IMDB respectly. So go heal your poor, aching eyeballs people!!

• This is the problem with centralized production. What happened to locally produced products? Petaluma used to be the chicken capital of the world, now it is just another housing track. The lesson here is DON"T PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET

• It's Complicated: What is in a Nancy Meyer film? Older women who have a sexual reawakening. A host of A-listers who think they are being hip doing this film and if you do not think so to, their expressions on their faces during the whole film will sell it like it hurts (probably did). Homes that you saw in the May issue of Architectual Digest (That's a lot of food for Meryl Streep's character to sell to have a place like that). Lead character has budding and born to be successful Aryan children that so darn photogenic but are utterly cardboard cut-outs with no sense of timing or feeling (Hunter Parrish was completely cringeworthy). Unnecessary nudity, brief or otherwise. Essentially these people are living a life I cannot relate to whatsoever but gosh darn it looks so pretty. The evil rebound 2nd wife plays more like the evil stepmother in an old Disney movie despite the fact the main character lives a perfect life. Terrible script and set-up and talent completely underserved by it.

• Forrest Gump - that feather - I wanted to blow it away. Life is not like a box of chocolates, silly! It's like a bag of Doritos. Mama Mia: How to take the camp out of Abba, or how to take Abba out of the camp. The most anti-feminist film in decades.

• "Four Christmases" is the worst movie I've ever seen. "Monster-in-Law" with Jane Fonda and J-Lo is a close second. I actually thought "Grand Canyon" was a great movie.

• Gung Ho was such a racist movie, I do not even know where to begin. But it has a purpose of showing what happened with the auto industry workers in this country the last 20 or so years and also globalization. Problem though is that the movie is painfully not so aware of this so instead of a real message we see cast members from Cheers dancing to cheesy 80s music.

• I would hate to state the obvious but....it has to be "The Love Guru", hands down. 1 1/2 of my life that I will never get back. I bought it at flea market and still think the studio owes me my money back. And did someone say "The Color Purple"? Are you kidding??? Its drawn out and overwrought but thats why its good. Also the writing and directing is by the horribly bad Joel Schumacher. Yes, the man that put nipples on Batman. Go see it, you won't be disappointed in it's badness, which makes it AMAZING

• Forest Gump, I still resent that I wasted three hours of my life watching that excrement. Kevin Costner's Robin Hood, after two hours I asked if anyghing was ever going to happen. I'll never watch another of his movies again, but I did laugh out loud at the previews for his The Postman. I am proud to say I have never paid to see a Mel Gibson movie, and I never will. Won't even watch any on tv. The same goes for Eddie Murphy, I am one faggot that doesn't want to draw a bead on his "black ass."

Oscar my ass: Nicholson was on autopilot, and Helen Hunt couldn't decide from scene to scene if she had a New Yawk accent or not. (A common problem for her -- she's only Southern in the 2nd half of Cast Away) As for It's My Party, I get angry every time I see it. Someone with AIDS who has no visible or physical symptoms decides to kill himself before he gets 'really sick.' And a lovable bunch of multicultural family, friends and special guest stars drop by to wish him well and say all the 'correct' things, before he takes the pills. Fuck you.

• The American version of State of Play getting any critical praise still confounds me. How we found out the big twist is such a cop-out and so self-congratulatory toward the newspaper industry. I loved Let The Right One In, but it had its faults. Not really presenting Eli's first companion as a pedophile like the book, not going into the companion's backstory, making Eli's gender identity ambiguous when the book clearly states what is the dealand the cats scene. Oh that cats scene. I hope the remake scraps that part. So ridiculous, mostly because of the juxtaposition of what the cats looked like before they attacked vampire symptomatic lady versus their CGI bastardization during the attack. Nearly took me out of the film until the demise of the symptomatic victim and the jaw-dropping ending.

• I'm not sure this fits the category, but the pound-for-pound WORST film is the Brando remake of ISLAND OF DOCTOR MOREAU, if only for all the talent it wastes--Brando, Frankenheimer, Thewlis, Balk, Kilmer--to make what essentially is multi-million dollar Ed Wood Production. Worst line ever: "Take me to Kitty-Kat Heaven!"

• Ben's mention of all movies from Stephen King books jogged my memory. Dreamcatcher was one of the most godawful movies I've ever seen and that was also directed by Lawrence Kasdan. I guess the actors got no direction because the performances are horrible.

• Benjamin Button was another catering job to Baby Boomers-- and for no real reason. Eric Roth, who adapted Forrest Gump, destroyed a good F. Scott Fitzgerald story that was ridden with style over substance. I give Fincher, Cate Blanchett, and Taraji B. Henson credit for actually coming out pretty well in the film despite having such a poor script. Visually engrossing, yes, but it was just a half-baked script.

Los Angeles filmed as a pristine paradise yet at the climax when the moronic ensemble stand looking wide mouthed in cathartic wonderment at the Grand Canyon ... it's covered in SMOG!!!!! They don't even see it. All Lawrence Kasden movies btw are rental favourites in the Al Qeada Training Video section of Blockbuster in Kandahar!

• well babies, don't you panic. but for moi, the two worst films i've ever had to suffer through, were: st. elmo's fire, and minority report. come to think of it, make that any movie with tom cruise in it.

• Dogma - the one with Ben and Matt, directed by Kevin Smith Anything else directed by Kevin Smith, aside from Clerks There's No Fish Food in Heaven - saw it at a film festival, it started with a packed house, by the end of the movie there were about 5 people left. Unfortunately I was one of them. As Good As it Gets - and I had to sit through it 3 times, against my will - once in the theaters, once while I was waiting for my car to be repaired, and once on a bus trip. Girl 6 The History of the World, pt. 1, or was it Spaceballs? I forget, but either way it was pretty egregious!

• Every movie I have ever seen has been utterly amazing and one is better than another. I have been completely thrilled with each one.

• Liquid Sky 1941 The Tenant Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey. that movie wasn't released...it escaped! Anything shot in sepia when it is supposed to be in color or black and white. Pick ONE. I get physically ill when I consider all the "producer's fees" collected by wives, pals, and other hangers-on.

I too found it grossly homophobic, but what also made me walk out was the violence and deaths met by gales of laughter from the audience. I was told by people that I didn't "understand" the movie. I was also told that when I stopped watching The Sopranos, after a five-minute scene in which a man beat a woman to death. Oh that's right, it's ART.

• Heaven's Gate- OK it was ravaged by the critics but there seems to be a lot of revisionist praise with the director's cut which is far, far worse. Forrest Gump- Baby Boomers who claim this movie have egg on their face. The Aviator, Shutter Island, and The Departed- After Gangs of NY, hardly a masterpiece but at least it was ambitious, Martin Scorsese's vision as a filmmaker has regressively lowered aim. But because he's Scorsese and had no Oscars on his mantle, he gets rewarded for making a second rate mob remake. The Aviator was just an offensive rehabilitation about Howard Hughes filled with cameos doing mimicry that was more like a Vanity Fair famous people play dress-up shoot. Shutter Island was busy and even if it was a purposeful homage to b-movies (not saying it wasn't but that did not seemed realized until halfway through), can Marty at least when trying to give a commentary/homage about horror movies at least be original eg Wes Craven instead of remaking Cape Fear and adapting Dennis Lehane? Also,DiCaprio as Scorsese's new DeNiro is absolutely inexplicable. Up In The Air- Jason Reitman (hack) destroys a good book and overloads George Clooney on sedatives and call it acting, copies and pastes Diablo Cody dialogue to his actresses b/c he has no idea how to write about women, and steals Wes Anderson's iTunes account for a soundtrack. Movie of our time? It is depression fixated (that is unsure when to make characters happy or happy at all) for manchildren of Generation X, hipsters, and people who do not know better. Capote- Depressing, PSH hardly embodied Capote aside from voice, and honestly, not really interesting if you read the book, knew about Capote, or saw the adaptation of In Cold Blood. I actually liked Infamous more, though hardly a masterpiece. Cinderella Man and A Beautiful Mind- I love Russell Crowe but Ron Howard really tries to remove all the clear flaws from his protagonists (and Jim Braddock and John Nash were FLAWED) by making them oh so perfect and reverential until something terrible happens, then they are victims, then they fight back, then they win, and everything's peachy again. Howard takes it to such an extent that there is clear character assassination of one of Braddock's opponents, Max Baer, as just one example. I liked Boogie Nights. Usually with Paul Thomas Anderson, the movie that really gets polarized is Magnolia.

• "Brokeback Mountain" - dull, pretentious, hated the characters "Crash" - loved the Cronenberg one, hated the Oscar-winning one, preachy, boring How could people not be entertained by the swift-moving, fascinating, shocking, funny "Boogie Nights?" Also "Can't Stop the Music" is bad but it's campy bad. Fun, love the cast and a few of the numbers are hysterical!

• #1: Delovely. The only film I've attended where I actually felt as if I were about to vomit, owing to its utter badness on every single level (the bile rose to my throat when poor Diana Krall is shown sticking her tongue in some hideous old troll's ear). Excruciating. #2: Crash. Pretentious, ham-fisted, badly-acted, written and "directed". Earns extra points for offensiveness in that it suckered enough Oscar voters into believing it was "Best Picture of 2004". And if you thought it sucked in '04, try watching it today....even worse!

• Titanic (a titanic bore) Slumdog Millionaire Alexander (even making fun of it got tedious after the first 4 hours, oh wait, it was only 3 hours long?) Wings of Desire (the single most pretentious movie ever made EVER) Prince of Tides (those nails!)

• "Moulin Rouge." The last 45 minutes were just excruciating. We know she's gonna die, just kill her already! (Lesson learned: Ignore all films directed by Baz Luhrmann. He doesn't know how to end his movies. Another case in point: Strictly Dancing.) Pulp Fiction. Sorry, but the homophobic Bruce Willis scene was what finally made me walk out of the theatre -- something I have only done once before in my life. (Lesson learned: Ignore all films directed, produced, co-written, or even inspired by Quintin Tarantino. He should go back to working behind the counter at a Blockbuster.)

• Can't stop the Music. And I like the Village People. The acting was just bad.

• Pearl Harbor. It made me wish the Japanese had won the war.

• Steel Magnolias. It sounded the death knell for the 'womens' weepers' domestic dramedies of the 80s that started with Terms of Endearment. Magnolias is unfunny, overwrought and patronizing. And when Julia Roberts is supposed to be charming and delightful, she is actually brittle and annoying.

• The Passion of the Christ

• Probably the biggest disappointment in a long time, a movie I thought I was going to love and which turned out to be terrible: "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull".

• The Avengers certainly holds a place of honor. One of those "films" where you can't believe how bad it is, but remain in your seat out of morbid curiosity to see if it will get any better. At the end, the audience that was left either booed or hissed.

• I hated the Blind Side. And I hated Bullock's performance. Can't believe she won an Oscar for it. She deserved all the personal problems she got after winning for stealing that Oscar from Meryl.

• Every year I try to see all the Best Picture Oscar nominees, which means in recent years I've been forced to sit through such high-class duds as "Atonement" and "Babel". Last year there were 10, and I never did catch up with "A Serious Man" (I don't like the Coen Brothers).

• The Crying Game..."It's in my nature"--what was that supposed to mean? The Blind Side was terrible. Precious.

• Boogie Nights is endless. Oliver Stone also doesn't know how to cut a frame.
