Joel Schumacher Was Straight!
For a day anyway.
The genial director known for films like St. Elmo's Fire and The Lost Boys, did it with publicist/performer Cherry Vanilla back in the '70s, according to the latter's spicy new memoir, Lick Me.
Joel, she says, "was doing things to me that I never in my life would have imagined he'd be into. And he was actually quite good at it too."
Cherry later learned that Joel was going to the same shrink as Anthony Perkins -- the neurotically good Psycho actor who tried so hard to become an ex-gay -- "and part of Joel's therapy might have been to give the hetero route a try."
Yeah, everyone should try it once.
But anyone who's directed the fabulous girl-group musical drama Sparkle is bound to go back to the menfolk!
