"That's So Gay!"
I was the first one to lambast this expression some years ago, a phrase which is used to denote something tacky, sad, awful, and tasteless.
I thought the phrase itself was appalling, and couldn't believe it was being used by people who would surely never have the nerve to publicly say things like "That's so black!" or "That's so Jew!"
And now Anderson Cooper has gone on Ellen DeGeneres's show and said how rotten the phrase is, noting that he couldn't believe it was in the trailer he saw for some alleged Vince Vaughn comedy.
Yes, not only is "so gay" in the movie, they put it in the previews!
Gotta love Anderson and Ellen. Thhey're so gay--in the more positive sense of the term.
