James Franco's New Film Is Not for the Squeamish
In Danny Boyle's 127 Hours, James Franco plays the real-life adventurer who got his arm pinned by a boulder and spent six days alone in the wilderness trying to survive until he finally cut his arm off and escaped.
I'm not sure if this will be a big date movie, especially since at the screening I went to, the lady in front of me ran for the exit in horror when Franco cut his arm and drank his blood! (I guess she's not a Twillight fan.)
UPDATE: A PUBLICIST INFORMS ME THAT FRANCO DOESN'T DRINK HIS BLOOD. AFTER HE JABBED HIS ARM, I THOUGHT HE BROUGHT THE STUFF TO HIS MOUTH, BUT I MISUNDERSTOOD, CLEARLY DELIRIOUS FROM HIS CAPTIVITY. ANYWAY, THE WOMAN DID RUN OUT EXACTLY AT THAT POINT, I SWEAR.
She missed the whole amputation scene. And the happy, hypnotic ending.
Will you take a chance on watching this icky but basically inspiring (and acclaimed) scenario?
Or would you rather cut off your own arm?
