My Definite, Possible Oscar Buzz

Colin Firth
Here it is: Unfounded, un-called for, and way too early.

Best Actor nominees will surely include Colin Firth (The King's Speech), James Franco (127 Hours), and Robert Duvall (Get Low).

Firth is the favorite to win right now, especially since he was so good in A Single Man last year and in everything else he's done--though things could shift by next year if someone has a tracheotomy.

For Best Actress, nominees will surely include Annette Bening (The Kids Are All Right) and Natalie Portman (Black Swan), with Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone) a very strong probable to join them.

Winners of this category usually skew younger (except for the time Helen Mirren won), but this is unquestionably Annette's year. She was also great in Mother and Child and she's been nominated multiple times before. She's simply got it--unless someone has etc., etc..

For supporting, Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter--both from The King's Speech--are considered locks to win at this moment.

And that's definite! Possibly!
