Who Should Play Hazel in the New Musical?
A press release went out yesterday saying that Hazel, the maid immortalized by Shirley Booth in a '60s sitcom, is being turned into a stage musical, and they're in talks with a Broadway actress to play the part.
Too bad Shirley isn't still around because she could sing as well as act, mop, and do windows.
But who on earth who's actually breathing would be right for the middle-aged, rosy-cheeked, no-nonsense but twinkly house servant most famous for exclaiming, "Mr. B!"?
