I ended up at a divey gay bar the other night--stretching, as usual--and at the peak of the evening, the onstage drag queen announced that the guy manning the door had just celebrated turning 21!

Happy birthday, fella!

This was so sweet--until you realized that the person in charge of carding people to get in hadn't been legal himself until just recently!

And once again, nightlife falls prey to a hilarious irony.

I think in most states eighteen is the required age for working in clubs, restaurants, etc.,.
