Kevin Sorbo: Versace Had His Hand Up My Thigh
Kevin Sorbo, the model who gained fame as TV's "Hercules," served up his misty memories of almost wearing Versace (meaning the man himself), as told on Sirius XM Satellite Radio's "The Frank DeCaro Show".
Sorbo said that after he got a job modeling for Versace in Milan, he got a phone call that night from the world-famous designer.
Continued Sorbo:
"Gianni said, 'There's a car for you, you come to my party.' So I go down there and I meet Pavarotti, Barbra Streisand, Richard Gere, Elton John, all these people.
"He invites me to these parties every day for a week, one after the other, and each party gets smaller and smaller and smaller. Eventually, it's just Gianni and me at a restaurant.
"All of a sudden, his hand goes up my thigh. I said, 'Gianni, come on, you know I'm straight.' He said, 'This is why I like you, because you're not a girly-girl, you're a man's man.'
"I said, 'Well, look, all my life I've been down this road and you're in this road.' Without missing a beat, he says, 'I build a bridge.' I've always remembered that. I just love that story. We remained friends. He was definitely my favorite designer."
