Kate's Wedding Dress: A Marvel of McQueenly Design

I don't care a jot about the royals -- they're descendants of murderers and they're boring, remember? -- but I do like a good fashion design, so I have to admit that Kate Middleton's gown was absolutely divoon, darlings.

With see-through lacy stuff dotted with white florals on her arms, combined with the white bodice and billowy bottom part, it was snazzy and multitextured and sexy/classy/ornate without being too much or too little.

It was edgy, but not tacky; tasteful, but never boring.

I wish Alexander McQueen had been around to see this -- and to design it himself!

But again, let me remind you ... I don't care!

This is a great piece of photography. I always like photographing the weddings and you're lucky to capture this moment. I would like sharing a quote here:"I never question what to do, it tells me what to do.  The photographs make themselves with my help."Visit quoteocean.com for more.

Americans are obnoxious, arrogant, conceited, ugly, and loathsome; the wedding gown is not.

Another historical note: Slavery was abolished on the island of Britain in 1772 and the slave trade was abolished in 1807. But Britons continued to own slaves until 1838 and in some cases beyond; they just kept them on islands like Trinidad and Barbados. And India, for example, didn't gain independence until 1947, but I'm sure you think it was all fun there for the peoples of India while they were under British rule.

A brief historical note: The Atlantic fleet of the Royal Navy assiduously hunted down slavers in the first half of the nineteenth century. The last slavers to ply the waters were two ships in the 1850s - both under the flag of the US of A (land of Liberty etc.) Another historical factoid: slaves followed the Northern Star - by the Underground Railroad to the Her Britannic Majesty's Dominion of Canada to escape the misery of their lives in the U.S. of A.

I found the dress tasteful and well-constructed but from a stylistic standpoint, utterly ho-hum. I suspect the Duchess of Cambridge's conservative style combined with the need to avoid coming off as excessive were overpowering influencers.

Can't believe all ya'll are cumming on yourselves about that dress. Yeah, it fit well and was nicely done in a staid fashion, but it was not what one would expect from McQueen.

americans are descendants of slave-owners...point being do not judge the children for the sins of their parents. if you're not gonna care about the royals, for being boring, etc., or whatever it is about them that do not amuse you -- fine. but don't be so self-righteous about them being the descendants of murderers. i suppose you are a saint yourself, or as pure as the gown.

"Americans are descendants of slave-owners" - Some are but Michael Musto, for example, is not. Also, in case you haven't noticed, self-righteously judging Americans is a national sport in Britain.

and self-righteous judgmental americans judging non- americans, especially who isn't as white as the gown, and american citizens of color, is a national sport in the good 'ol u.s.a.

and just because the royals are descendants of murderers from centuries ago, doesn't meant that they should be judged as if they are the murderers. but that is the american self-righteous judgmental way, while killing innocents in the iraq, afghanistan, vietnam, stop and frisking blacks and latinos, etc. and how do you know that an ancestor of an american was not a slave-owner or has not murdered anyone from the same time that the royals had -- from the way they are being judged? god bless america the beautiful -- u.s.a, u.s.a. us.a. u.s.a u.s.a. u.s.a. the land of the free and the home of the brave

so, yeah, america and musto is as pure and white as the gown -- keep telling yourselves that

done

I think you're slightly over-reacting to some irreverence directed at Wills and Kate. I don't remember anyone saying Americans are great. Oh, you're done. Never mind.

Please! We all have to achieve something to get noticed, not just be born into blue blood or marry someone of the same.

Musto

I know for a fact that my ancestors were not slave owners!

right, and musto is trying to get noticed by judging the royals, so, yeah, please....

The gown is wack. It looks like something an 85-year-old bride would wear.

I agree, it's extra poignant that he killed himself. Why did he? His business was actually doing well. I hear it was because his mother died and he broke up with his bofyriend
