The Chemical Brothers Are Totally Uncool

I mean they're so cool that they're actually uncool, which is very cool.

Got it?

See, the British electronica duo did the pulsing soundtrack for the arty action-slash-coming-of-age flick Hanna by director Joe Wright (known for Pride and Prejudice and Atonement).

At the premiere last night, Wright said,

"The Chemical Brothers made me feel cool.

"They're very uncool, which is very weird. It's cool to be uncool. That's the moral of that story."

And I'm so cool I totally know what he meant.

The film, by the way, is a boldly directed bit of esoterica with 16-year-old Saoirse Ronan on the rampage against a scary Cate Blanchett, a boy who wants to kiss her, and anyone else in her warpath.

Last night, Saoirse (who was Oscar-nominated for Atonement) said she loves her character's purity.

"She doesn't know the difference between beauty and ugliness," she exclaimed, "and she doesn't judge anyone.

"And she's a bit of a badass as well."

Cool!

Is it about Hanna Schygulla??

I love it when rockers do soundtracks (Eddie Vedder, Trent Reznor). The Chemical boys aren't rockers per se, but still, they could probably turn out a mean soundtrack.

This movie sounds like something it might actually work paying money to see?
