Woody and Soon-Yi: Still Together And Not As Shocking Anymore

The reason Woody Allen is still interested in this relationship is because he is still tittelated by the fact that he molested her as a child. I'm sure he thinks of those early days every time he's intimate with her. Sick is sick. It doesn't matter how long it lasts.

It's still wrong ! both of them are sick and you gave them compliments ? what will you change for the world ? Should the nasty thing got award ?? Could you find something more educated ?

I look forward to Soon Yi eventually creating something beyond Allen's abilities and the two of them becoming the contemporary version of the Durants.

It is kind of icky to me still but I just learned that Soon Yi was 21 when the affair began. I had previously thought that she was in her early teens at the time. The fact that she was an adult when they got together makes a difference to me as well as the fact that the relationship has lasted.

Length of time? By your definition Jaycee Dugard should have been thrilled to have been in an 18-year relationship that produced two children.

To Michelle who thinks Mia was or is a "bad mother"...until you stand in someone else's shoes don't judge. It had/has nothing to do with Soon-Yi being an adopted child ...it had to do with that same child totally tossing away her relationship to her mother and siblings and self righteously proclaiming her relationship with her mothers own lover. 

Soon-Yi has never backed down from that fact and never showed an ounce of remorse for entering into this relationship with Allen. Tell me how would you like it if your own daughter began an affair with a long time partner? HOw would it feel to keep reaching out to your daughter, to forgive her, only to have her reject you? Not that Farrow is perfect or perhaps didn't make mistakes but Woody Allen is the one who acted with impunity - NOT Farrow! 

Watch the documentary on Allen made a few years ago, mainly to do with Allen's "career" as a jazz musician and you'll see why Mia regards her as (estranged) and STRANGE. She definitely comes across as that!  

Soon-Yi was disgusting, and probably still is!  She did this to her adoptive mother, who has given her EVERYTHING up to that point.  Talking about biting the hand that feeds you!

Woody is a disgusting pedophile, while realistically 17 years old is a very aware human being, in the eyes of the law is still a minor.  Why wasn't this treated as such?  Isn't that statutory rape?

Soon-Yi will SOON pay up with her own children all the damage that she has caused, you shall see...No one gets a free ride, this will be no exception.

I could never get too excited about it.  Mainly it has to do with the age at which Soon-Yi became "involved" with Allen.  Note that Allen and Farrow were never married and kept separate homes, and Allen had no legal relationship with Soon-Yi, who remained the legal adopted daughter of André Previn, and whom Soon-Yi continued to view as her father.

Predictably, people automatically jammed Soon-Yi Previn into a major victim-role, and Mia played every victim-card in her power during their custody battles.  "Hell hath no fury like..." was the constant background-music of this donnybrook.

The rich / powerful / celbrated do NOT live like ordinary middle-class folk (see Schwarzenegger, Arnold; Jolie, Angelina; Kennedy, John F.).  Let's see if I can get this tangled web straight:

André Previn:  marriages - 5  divorces - 5  biological children - 6  adopted children - 3

Mia Farrow:  marriages - 2  divorces - 2  biological children - 4  adopted children - 12?? who can tell...

Woody Allen:  marriages - 3  divorces - 2  biological children - 1 (estranged because of Soon-Yi)  adopted children - 4

Nope, it was foul what he did. At the end of the day there are some people that are just off limits, and one of them is your adopted child that you have with your wifey. Moreover, who knows what little mind games he played with this child while he secretly longed for her. Just because something has lasted for a long time doesn't make it right, just an ongoing mistake.

It doesn't matter if Woody was the biological father or not.  He was the adult father figure of an 8 year old girl.. I could care less about Mia Farrow.  Woody Allen is still a sick fuck.

Sorry mike cant agree with you on this one.  It was sheisty and creepy then, and still is.  The fallout was so great that it isolated them.  So it kinda make sense that they're still together because all they really have is each other.

I have no love for Woody Allen.  I thought he was creepy BEFORE Soon-Yi.  But you have to follow the backstory to fully appreciate the irony of the situation in which Mia, Soon-Yi and Woody found themselves back then.  Mia Farrow stole Andre' Previn away from his wife, songwriter Dory Previn in the early 70s.  Dory promptly recorded a song "Beware of Little Girls," about Mia. and had a nervious breakdown.  Andre' and Mia got married and adopted several Vietnamese children, the last of whom, Soon-Yi, was adopted from Korea at 8 years old.  The following year, Andre' and Mia split, and Mia began her affair with Woody Allen, not realizing he was (allegedly) a closet pedophile.  (I wonder if Mia kept the recording of "Beware of Young Girls?")  Unbelievably, after the Soon-Yi revelation, Woody decided to marry Soon-Yi and sue for custody of the other adopted children.  During those proceedings, Mia alleged that their 7 year old daughter was molested by Allen.  Allen and Farrow's natural child, Ronan, movie-star handsome and a genius, has had nothing to do with his father since then and has changed his name to "Farrow." 

I like how Soon-Yi has to be a victim. What if she loves him? It's incomprehensible that she could think for herself? So he's a dirty old man and society plays the paternalistic damsel in distress card. We need more Musto!

Because he could NEVER leave her after that! He's STUCK with her to save face!It's no less offensive because of time.

What was wrong with it was that the affair was going on while he was still with Mia Farrow (I think) who he had a kid with. That put her in a difficult, embarrassing position. If they had split up and then he started dating Soon Yi, it still would've been uncomfortable for family members but not as shady in general. But they didn't seem to care how it affected the family which, in the end, is their business.

She was a child under his roof, and the child of his wife from another time.It was wrong, it still is wrong....that was a position of power he held over a young woman, and he abused it.Regardless if she was grasping for bright bright shiny shiny as an adopted orphan who was dirt poor and probably paranoid about Mia leaving her any money, they're both responsible....and I think he was a dirty old man to do it, and I think she's going to get everything and the other kids nothing...........as a grasping Real Housewives of Inchon it's morbidly interesting, as a neurotic manipulator who does make good movies,fehhhhhhhhhhI wouldn't see one of his movies hawg-tied.Didn't he have troubles with his long time business partner, too?She may be more Gala Dali than Virgin Mary............ 

he'll be 76 in december. he's old. he's got aches, pains and kvetches galore. he hasn't the energy to stray and realizes that he needs (and will need more & more each day) someone to do for him, run for him, fetch for him, wipe for him. better that someone be a someone who is familiar...and young.

i read mia's book. he's made some marvelous movies, but he's a strange fucker.

They are happy together. And I am happy for them.

I'm willing to say maybe a little bit that the fact that they're still together proves something, but I still don't think they ever should have gone there. It was humiliating to Mia.
