Weiner Is Stepping Down

He won't "stick it out" anymore.

That's what the congressman is telling friends, according to The New York Times.

The lies, the scandals, and the pressure from the president and Nancy Pelosi have prompted a disgraced exit for this guy with big balls (and the balls to show them).

And now the poor wife is thinking, "I was going to be the first lady of New York, but now we're fading into obscurity -- and I'm pregnant with his baby!"

He displayed the same arrogant hubris in holding out this long to resign as he did by thinking that he could get away with his lies, deceit and, yes, unfaithfulness ("Tweeting Isn't Cheating"...BULLSHIT!).  Yes, he'll finish his token, 2-week "sex re-hab," whatever that is...write a weepy confessional book, proclaiming the whole scandal made him realize how much he truly loves his wife and VERY large-nosed child, then go on the lecture circuit, at $100K a pop, earning his living by reliving his shame and disgrace.  That's "The American Way," isn't it?

A stupid waste. Weiner fought tirelessly for the rights of his constituents - and was a truly effective congressman - bu he has no one to blame but himself.

Maybe he should have lied us into a war, caused countless deaths, and wasted trillions of dollars. For that, you get a book deal and a stint hosting morning talk shows.

Hope our Anthony will be hosting tv things, writing books, making a ton of $.  If he doesn't stay married, plenty will be lining up to suck his dick.

I'm outraged. He's a pathetic, ill-considered punk. But that's no justification for all the male-bashing that has occurred as a result of his being a punk. He didn't do anything differently than a lot of men on the internet, but because of his bad judgement, the unmitigated feminati were able to use it as canon fodder. HE should have stood up, granted, at the gitgo and said 'yeah, so what." I pray for the day a decent politician does, as you say Michael, grow balls and doesn't apologize for them.

I'm female and I couldn't care less what he does with strippers and porn actresses. As MM mentioned above, it wasn't left up to his constituents - Obama and the Dems forced him out, said they would take away all his committees, etc. Does any one else wonder if they wanted him gone because he was one of the few liberals left and had the courage to speak out against the current fascist regime? This incident also seems like an act of self-sabotage - like he wanted out of his political career.

Had he not lied, this might not have been the end result!  Oh, well, he's more famous now than he is/would have been as a politician...but he'll be forgotten even more quickly than if he weren't.

What a douche. He fucked up from the beginning by lying. "It might be my photo, I don't know." That immediately told the world: "Sleaze!" He's like Tiger Woods, but in political office, so it's worse.
