Casey Anthony & Dominique Strauss-Kahn: Not Enough Evidence

So we have two cases in which there's not quite enough backup to deliver the verdict you might fantasize about in your darkest flights of fancy.

With Casey Anthony, she definitely lied, evaded, and her car trunk reeked of decomposition, but there doesn't seem to be that 100 percent connection to the crime that would seal her fate.

Still, I feel she'll get a guilty verdict and many years in the clink. And she deserves it.

I mean, does anyone believe the kid drowned, but had to have her mouth duct-taped anyway?

With Dominique Strauss-Kahn, they've basically put the victim on trial, as they do in so many rape cases.

They've called her all kinds of names, including whore, liar, and exploiter.

Unfortunately, in this case, some of the claims seem to be true (though I'm not sure what her possibly having been a prostitute has to do with her cred -- and besides, she had a vaginal bruise after her Strauss-Kahn encounter! And his alleged past victim isn't letting up!).

So Kahn might not face charges after all.

And who knows, he might even go on to run for president of France.

As his country sits and wonders.

oh my goodness Michael I didn't even think of that, if the child drowned why the duct tape? The prosecution should have just repeated that over and over again in its closing statements.Of course they couldn't ask the Father since he denied it and they couldn't ask Casey since she would not take the stand.I think Hollywood should hire Jose Baez as a screen writer because he can certainly make up stupid far fetched stories that some people believe.

AND THE NEW IS: NOT GUILTY for Casey Anthony. Why am I NOT surprised? I guess they did the impossible and found her an actual "jury of her peers": Ill-educated, foolish, goddamned idiots. God bless America. The people have spoken--and it turns out, they're illiterate.

Reports of the maid doing sex work during her stay under police protection does not surprise me. Men everywhere are dreaming of making love to the woman that ruined the reputation of DSK. Her price will be beyond the means of the working man unless it is disclosed that she has AIDS.

I think the Casey Anthony prosecutors hit the nail on the head when they closed their case by showing a closeup of the tattoo that the murderess got on her shoulder, after the child's death: "BELLA VITA" (beautiful life). Supposing the child had actually drowned? What explains that tattoo? Should the tattoo have read "COLPEVOLE PUTTANA" (guilty whore) instead?

Cautious men no longer will enter a crowded elevator on their way to the office, the claim by an ambitious woman that she was fondled will bring the elevator to a halt. An innocent man on his way to work will be handcuffed and unless he offers his life savings to the ambitious woman he will lose his reputation and many times his job.
