Dolly Parton's Dollywood Discriminates Against Gays

• There was nothing at all wrong or offensive about this t-shirt. As long as the consciouness of the rabble believes there is something wrong with being gay we'll continue to see discrimination based on negitive thinking.

• Uh, you did know that (A) She didn't approve of this guy's actions, (B) She personally apologized and said that ALL people are welcome at the theme park, and (C) she has long been a strong supporter of LGBT rights?  No, you didn't?  Well, now you do!

• First, she issued a very sincere and very classy apology, as she is a classy women and a sincere supporter of the LGBT community.  Second, she did not personally direct the yahoo employee to discriminate against the lesbian couple, and no sane person can hold her responsible for what is done by someone over whom she has zero direct control--she does not personally supervise every employee at Dollywood (she is not even at Dollywood most of the time), nor did she write a policy or approve of a policy discriminating against LGBT people.  One idiot made his own personal judgement call about what the theme park approves and disapproves of.  She handled it as it needed to be done.  Case closed.

• THE EMPLOYEE HAD THE RIGHT TO DO HIS JOB, JUST AS THE LESBANS FELT THEY HAD A RIGHT TO WEAR THE WORDS ON THE SHIRT.  EVERYONE HAS THEIR RIGHTS,  SO WHY THE APPOLOGY DOLLY? 

• i am 100% pro lgbt, but i do see the issue with this shirt in that some younger children may not understand the irony in the t-shirt and have questions about marriage not related to the lgbt issue at all.

• Let's keep in mind that this was an employee, not Dolly.  I wonder what the park's actual policy is?

• Look it up Dolly STILLS owns Dollywood.

• Yeah, but confederate flag tatoos are founded on Christian values and are supported 100%....

• Dolly does not own Dollywood. She used to, but no longer. She only licenses her image.

• Yeah, but other people with "offensive" flags and tattoos were ushered right in. The rules of the park are hypocritical.

• How do Christian values feel about Dolly's tits?

• Good Dolly doesn't have to explain it's the rules of the park .The woman was asked to turn her shirt inside out not thrown out of the park.

• Dollywood was founded on Christian values and I stand behind the decision 100%.   

• I always thought that Dollywood was in Pigeon Forge.

• Dolly has always been super supportive of the gay community.  I just went to her show in LA and 90 percent of the audience way gay people!!  Don't throw her under the bus because of one employees stupid judgement call.  Dolly received death threats for her involvement in the film TransAmerica.  I doubt she would sanction this persons actions.

• Umm, I think it's meant to be an ironic re-appropriation of an offensive use of the word "gay"

• Frankly, I think the phrase "so gay" is what's offensive, because it has been used repeatedly to describe something as stupid, dumb, idiotic, and usually utttered by clueless hets, particularly in bad Ronnie Howard movies.

• The lesbian also pointed out that other patrons had "offensive" tattoos and flags and were let right in.

• Dolly had to live down "Rhinestone" and now this.
