On Monday on Talk of the Nation, some journalist said that even though she lies constantly (actually he used the phrase 'pants on fire' - I think you can't call someone a liar on NPR even if they are), 'the congresswoman is someone who speaks from her heart and speaks her mind, and that's something that a lot of voters want right now.' So 'speaking your mind' is admirable in and of itself, even if what you're speaking is lies and confused garbage. By that criteria, Adolf Hitler was admirable.

What really would have made this appearance work for me is if Marcus Bachman emerged from the bus in a gold lame' Elvis suit and black pompadour, grabbed a blonde surfer out of the crowd, and sang "Love Me Tender" to him while strumming a ukelele.
