Serving good food isn't enough for a restaurant to sweep me off my tongue.
The presentation of such edibles has to be more amazing than Barney's Christmas windows.
And at Lair (201 Lafayette Street, 212-334-5247), all the seared, truffled essences are nicely put together, as evidenced by these dazzling, high-fashion photos of the specialties.
At dinner there last night, items like dry-aged black angus beef dumplings were positively lovely, especially when followed by a delectable act of cross-cultural mayhem called Shanghai walnut-crusted marshmallows.
Enjoy the photos -- but not that much.
