According to a source:

"They just finished final casting for the upcoming Broadway reading of Dustin Lance Black's 8 [a play about the fight for gay marriage].

"Joining Morgan Freeman, Cheyenne Jackson, Marisa Tomei, Anthony Edwards, and Rob Reiner, will be:

"John Lithgow, Bradley Whitford, and Matt Bomer.

"Bomer and Jackson will be playing real-life husbands Paul Katami and Jeff Zarrillo, central litigants in the Prop 8 trials."

Well, Bomer certainly has the background for it. Reportedly, he's practically gay-married in real life!

I see Matt and his kids all the time here in L.A. Strange, I never see the husband with them.

Scenario::I work hard at my career and recognition on a job well done would be great and WHAM!  Someone wants to know if I'm a lesbian.  (" Hi, how are you?  Welcome to my interview.  Are you a Lesbian?")  Maybe I'll just smile and walk away.  Oh, well, uh, someone asked, so I have to acknowlege or deny it?  No, I don't.  What makes people think that's something all celebrities welcome?  If some needs to get it off their chest at a point in their lives or just have to shout it out because they couldn't before, that's fine too and  it's their choice  (that's the key).   It could be now ... later or ....never.  Whenever.

Matt Bomer is  talented (acting, singing, sports, etc), magnificiently  handsome  and a really nice guy (met him after a long, scorching day of filming and he still came over to meet waiting fans and he still looked so refreshed and was still smelling great :)  :)  ).   Everything else is icing on the cake and is his personal life so he can share or not share as he chooses.   I certainly don't talk about everything in my life with every Tom, Dick or Sally I meet so I don't expect him or any celebrity to.  I'm very happy with that.

Why is it required every gay celebrity is supposed to have a People Magazine cover to claim their sexuality. Gimme a break! Isn't Matt Bomer living his life openly without an explanation enough for everyone? It's known he's gay. Sometimes that should be enough. F**k everyone else!

So true, nothing worse than a star who peddles his personal life in magazines and the press. A star is so much more intriguing when you don't hear details on their personal lived

Matt wears a wedding ring, so presumably he considers himself "actually" gay-married, rather than "practically" so.

And the only fans of Matt's who don't know he's gay and married to Simon Halls don't know how to use Google. They publically support charities together, attend public events together (such as the most recent Golden Globes) and are raising three children together (Simon's via surrogate). These are not difficult facts to ascertain.

Matt also does publicity for gay charities and causes.

The only way Matt isn't "out" is because he hasn't taken out an ad in "People" mag. Some may consider it necessary he does that to be considered "out". Personally I don't feel he needs to do that.

"Reportedly, he's practically gay-married in real life!" to Hunter Parrish..

Matt is doing an Anderson Cooper I see, out but not publicly out...

I think that Matt Bomer is not only a good looking dude, he has sexual chemistry that permeates his persona, especically in the series: White Collar. The fact that he is not in denial about his orientation (not specifically, 'out!' but almost!) he is not being disingenuous by proclaiming he is str8 and 'into' women! (Like so many other 'suspected' gay actors). Maybe one of these days, celebs of all sorts who are gay, will proudly proclaim they are and be role models for the young ones who want to free themselves from the guilt of being gay!

Why "reportedly", Michael? Any idiot knows that Bomer is gay.

Sounds preachy and tedious. Milk was so overrated.

Hmm - I see them at Gelson's, the Bean charity events all the time

Right, except that only seems to happen with gay sexuality. So it's not really a case of mystery, it's a case of cowardice.

Every other aspect of celeb lives is peddled, but you applaud when a gay star keeps it semi-hid. Ugh.

This is so gross!!! Matt has never said he's gay on the record, but you're chastising the fans out there who don't know he's gay as being idiots!

No one's asking for an ad in People magazine. Just one acknowledgment in an interview.

And plenty of people hide behind "I do charity for gay causes." That's lovely, but means nothing as to one's sexuality.

You are an apologist for the lowest kind of glass-closet scum.

I wouldn't mind doing an Anderson Cooper...

Me too!  Really underrated as an actor and funnyman.  Maybe he's not leading man handsome, but he's a gem.

Yeah, one night.

True, but we're getting tired of the "at least they're not pretending to be straight" argument.

If I saw your face, would I exclaim, "Upper Sandusky!"?

An actor owes us nothing but a great performance, which with his considerable talent, he will no doubt provide.

I really find it entertaining when career homosexuals make demands of others on how to live their lives. So glad I did not get the gene whereby actors coming out of the closet validates me. You want to come out in People, get yourself a hit TV show and a promising movie career and you come out. Live and let live; live your own life, that is if you have one!

Agreed! I hate stars who won't say they're gay but think "Well, it's so obvious, it doesn't need to be said." If it's so obvious, then why are you afraid to say it???
