Your Favorite Female Comic Working Today?

• All fab gals. But I'd have to add Lily Tomlin to the list. She's still working, though it'd be easy to forget.

• Maria Bamford is the best but Kathy is my junk food solution for stand-up comics. I also love Julie Klausner, mostly for her great podcast which I feel like is a much better forum for her.    

• Whitney Cummings - meh.  She needs to lose the Obama-worship schtick.

• I've seen 3 of these lovelies live...great list!

• Are you kidding me? That talentless dumb bitch can't even read the jokes off of a teleprompter! If it wasn't for her suckie fuckie ways, she wouldn't be annoying us on the TV screen each night.

• LOVE Joan Rivers, Sarah Silverman & Wanda Sykes!  I also love Sandra Bernhard, but I don't think of her as just a stand-up comic.  Don't care for Kathy Griffin.  And if we're talking ANY funny woman working today, then Kristin Wiig is definitely one of my absolute faves!

• Judy Gold.  IT'S JUDY'S SHOW-O-O!

• I also love Margaret Cho, she's the best!

• Love the Dame too, though technically, she ain't a gal atal.  She was so funny on the Joan Rivers Tonight Show when they also had Joan Collins on.

• No Vilma Banky?

• Nonsense, Tony-winning Dame Edna eats all these gals for a breakfast appetizer, then moves on to the main course. 

• Poor Totie! Bless her heart. Kathy Griffin is one of the funniest women I've ever experienced and as we all know, I go back to the Gracie Allen era. But not, as rumor would have it, Mabel Normand.

• Whitney Cummings is uber funny...Sarah Silverman isn't...Kathy Griffin is amazing...Wanda Sykes is funny too but needs some new material...as does Lisa Lampanelli whose tired old jokes about being plowed by a black man are wearing thin

• If you ever watch Fashion Police on E!, you can see just how funny Joan really is when she consistently cracks up people MUCH MUCH younger than she. I love her, Kathy Griffin & Wanda more than the others, but they are all OK, too.

• They all have different brands of comedy, so I don't know that I'd be able to choose an overall favorite, though I do lean towards Joan because of her ever-changing humor and continued relevance.

• All great gals!  Every one, even Totie.  I think I have to vote for Sarah, if I have to choose. 

• Definitely agree w/ all of your choices. There are many more I like too, but too many to list.

• Wanda Sykes gets my vote..she can wring the wtf? reaction out of any situation to hilarious effect.

• Joan Rivers. But Roseanne is incredible as well. Latoya Jackson is also comedy gold.

• Wow, I didn't realize how talented the field of American female comics has become! More bang for the buck than the boys' club. Proof: each listed fella on your list's just as good (and flawed, which is also good) as any other.
