How Much Is That Lypsinka In The Window?

Categories: Drag Queens

Drag legend Lypsinka (a/k/a John Epperson) will be performing in the window of Bergdorf Goodman tonight as part of the Fashion's Night Out festivities, so Dirty magazine did an advance shot of the diva looking fab as a sort of real-life display mannequin, but with way better accessories.

And in the mag's interview with Lypsinka, she reveals a lot of things -- including the fact that director Herbert Ross was a fan and wanted to involve her in an American version of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.

There was even a reading of the script, with Whoopi Goldberg and Daryl Hannah, but the project was always on the verge and wasn't meant to be, alas.

Still, Lypsinka -- well, Epperson -- popped up as a rehearsal pianist in Black Swan just last year.

And tonight's your chance to window shop for some Lyp gloss.

Now one of Lypsinka's favorite movie lines will take on added resonance:

"You were a little shopgirl from San Francisco! You should have stayed on the other side of the counter!"

--Constance Bennett, to Lana Turner in "Madame X"

A most interesting performer.  And a most interesting interview!  Thanks.

There is only one false statement in that interview:  whatever John Epperson may say, there are three great stars left:  Dunaway, Collins - and the Lyp!

(Although Dunaway has done everything she can possibly come up with to piss away her star-legacy...)

Marvelous, Darling! Kiss them for me. Lypsinka looks like the legend she is.
