Lady Gaga And Tony Bennett Sing "The Lady Is a Tramp"

Categories: Lady Gaga

Their unexpected duet is a good time romp filled with solid belting and kooky ad libs.

And I love it when Gaga screeches about hating California (though Bennett left his heart there) and recklessly declares "I'm a tramp!" as Bennett giggles.

Clearly, these two are the new Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper.

This lady understands how to work the system like no one i know and enjoys every moment of it.This is brilliant.

Well Michael, looks like you're the true-blue expert of pop culture outings - no one else can spot an undiscovered or unperceived situation that was there all along as sharply as you. Watch out, or you'll have a long line of scholar-pretenders (not to mention entertainment reporters) beating their way to your doorstep.

I'm amazed. I thought she was just a circus. Having heard this, I suspect she had a brilliant plan all along. To use the bells and whistles of pop divatry in order to rise above the crowd. That strategy worked and now she shows us that she always had a voice and a heart. Listen again and hear the hints of Natalie Cole and a little bit of Ella.

I concur.  I've never heard Gaga sing in that register before and I liked it.  And you're right:  Natalie and Ella.  Brilliant.

Me too, Melinda9. She's surprisingly a better singer than most non-black pop divas, Madonna included. And I found I could re-listen more to this than to Bennett's celebrated duet with Amy Winehouse.

I'm a little surprised by her colorless her voice sounds. Give me Adele any time. But I love me some Tony Bennett.
