Triplets Separated At Birth?

Three currently hot actresses happen to share a similar unconventionally attractive look and comic chops from the heavens.

Zoe Kazan, 28, is an eccentric, doll-faced creature who has done theater (The Seagull, Angels in America) and film (Me and Orson Welles, It's Complicated) on the road to complete domination.

Similarly strong-featured Nina Arianda, 25, exploded in plays like Venus in Fur (which she currently co-stars in on Broadway) and Born Yesterday, plus she pops up all over the place in movies like Midnight in Paris, Win Win, and Higher Ground. There's no stopping this one! She's even in Tower Heist!

And Kewpie-ish Kristen Schaal, 33, is known for segments on The Daily Show, plus she competes with puppets in the new Muppets movie, so she's another multimedia wunderkind.

Feast your eyes on the quirky allure of these three nouveau starlets and tell me:

Couldn't they have been triplets who were separated at birth?

Even though they're all different ages?

They all look like they're Donna Murphy's daughters.

But these aren't your typical starlets, the type Hollywood used to churn out. They have individuality and  quirk appeal and talent.

Most of these starlets are interchangable, the Hollywood system structured this intentionally, and we won't remember any of these ladies in a few years. I hardly even know them now. This isn't a comment on their talent or worth in any way, but planning another career path after Hollywood is a smart move. Enjoy the brief spotlight.

I could do WITHOUT all three of them, their faces, their acting, the system that promotes these folks. Thank the gods it's on its way out eventually!

Loved Zoe in The Seagull, not so much in Angels.

Love Nina in everything.

Don't know Kristen, but will check her out.

Yes!! Separated at birth! And unconventionally attractive is a very nice way to put it.

Of the three, I think Arianda is the brightest talent--Kazan was OK in "The Seagull" (though I know people who loathe her work) and Schaal has a limited, if charming range.  But Nina's Vanda in "Venus" was the emergence of a star and an artist of the first degree.
