Camp Is Dead--And Glee, Gaga, And Spielberg Killed It

• Glee premiered, the Kardashians got their first spinoff show on E! (even though they had been on the network since '07)...

• I'm pointing at 2009 as the year camp died: then-newcomers Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Adam Lambert, and Ke$ha all had singles on the charts, Jersey Shore premiered, Sarah Palin was on the news 24/7...

• the foto of the black man, on the left, in the yankee uniform is flavour! looks like an over dancer! look at the muscle in that leg! mama, what´s for dinner?

• it's kind of like when straights took over Halloween and ruined that too!

• Boy, was that a long article. I'm not sure that it required so much analysis. Camp is certainly not dead. It's just changed. There are those who may THINK they know camp but they're wrong. Michael, your piece today featuring Mike Diamond's videos qualify as good camp--at least in my opinion! Camps gone mainstream, but we'll always know the real thing when we see it. "Oh Blanche...ya know we got rats in the cella?"
