Gigantic New Gay Dance Club Opening Next Week!

I was one of the first people to write about the Out NYC, the 127-room gay resort hotel that's been planned for West 42nd Street for several gay years now.

I have no idea when that thing is going to finally open, but who cares?

I hear the dance club that's part of the complex is opening on January 27!

And it puts the "gi" back in "gigunda."

The place (located at 512 West 42nd Street) is called xl, and it supposedly fits 1,200, so get there early, lol.

From what I'd seen, it's going to be sleek and shiny and high-tech and jazzy, despite the lower-case lettering.

Seasoned promoters John Blair, Tony Fornabaio, and Brandon Voss are involved in this thumping enterprise.

And starting Thursday, February 2, Susanne Bartsch and Kenny Kenny are doing a weekly party there, drawing their own nutty crowd of circus escapees.

Yes, the Footloose years are officially over in NYC.

It's legal and even psychologically safe to take to the dance floor -- for hours at a time.

xl-ent!

Vava,Why dis a dance club? Not all circuit queens are tired and standing around. And even that can't be worse than watching the Republican debates. And I have gained so much weight since I stopped going out dancing. I'm a tired circuit queen who's going to start hopping up and down again. This club may be the first good thing to happen to me since they put the pianos  out all over the city.Let the games begin!

NYC needs a good circuit party, I'm 37, fit, healthy and like to dance, so i'm definitely checking this place out. There are way too many bars in NYC, nothing happens, people talk out of boredom, everybody frantically stares at gogo dancers who are merely a ' pie in the sky '. So get you asses in the gym, come out, and dance until you drop. That makes us sexy...

Just what New York needs a new dance club! There's nothing like a night of wild tit-twirling to keep the cardiovasculal in shape. You think all those Macy mannequins are up to a night of get down tit-twirling. From what I've witnessed over the last 2 years most queens can't dance thru the whole tune let a lone give it a night of burning up the dance floor for a couple hours. Oh how the hell are those queens going to deal with all those hot sweaty bodies. Oh sweet Baby Jane, come back from the grave. Imay be 60 but I'll give you a circus act you'll never foreget. Especially if I bring my dear friend Edmund Ahasuerus, he's essentially asexual and clubfooted. But at 83 I know that he'll be in real exstasy or possibly on it. Ether way he will get a real hellof a tit-twirling night out of the Bronx. And much thanks for giving all the dancing queens a new bright venue. GOOD LUCK! Be seeing you there. Just hope the doorman, bartenders, and bouncers are hot, hot, hot.

Looks cool. I'm in. Its better then the recycled strait clubs that couldn't make money and decided to cash in on the gays.

The hotel must have hit some kind of financing snag. It's amazing the club is really opening. I wish it well. It would be good for NYC nightlife to have a dance club.

Hmm...ok, it'll suck the life out of  Hell's Kitchen for a month or so...but they'd better get the hotel going soon to have "regular" customers.

Cut the Crap! You probably have no idea how to dance let alone been to an actual dance club in those whack ass cities you've listed.Bitterness is not an attractive thing.

Um,They will have regular cunstomers.John Blair and team have stated that they already had 3,500 or so people signed up for membership cards within a few blocks from the club.So if I were you,I'd shut up.You probably wont get in anyway, not with that snotty attitude.

Why go at all...with that attitude.Probably be denied entry anyway.

This is why anyone over thirty shouldn't go to dance clubs

Why do you care, you're probably older than the empire state building. You wont fit in,so it doesnt matter what you think. But then, you're probably bashing a place you'll never go to out of bitterness.CRY ME A RIVER!

Yes, let's cut the crap, starting with the corporate, lame-assed scene that is now New York, and the braindead e-popping idiots who run like cattle to whatever rolls along. And actually, asshole, Dallas once had a glimmer of a real scene before the NYC renaissance in the early 80s called Starck, a club owned by Grace Jones, et. al. for a brief year or so, it was stunning, and actually had club kids before Alig had even ventured into Slimelight. I danced there many times.

Now, you could have easily caught me out on that point. But you didn't because you couldn't, because like so many, you don't know what the fuck you're typing about. Go back to school chump. (And NYU doesn't count.)

(Now let's see, will he go for a lame 'old' joke, or some other stroke of genius about the success of modern dance music...hrmmm.)
