Those who can't, teach.

And so, on Wednesday, February 15, at the LGBT Center, I will be moderating an OutProfessionals panel on the Oscars, with a gay-for-no-pay twist to the proceedings.

Journalist Bradley Jacobs, comic Michele Balan, and I will go over the list of notable nominees, most likely with an eye toward the women who dress like men, the sex addict who bottoms out in a gay sex club, and the FBI guy who looks terrible in polka dots.

Have we come a long way, baby, or are movies even worse than they were pre-Stonewall?

Drop by, say hi, and remind me to discuss the lesbian with the dragon tattoo and the 70-something daddy who comes out and nabs a hot boyfriend.

And the professionals who aren't Out will be at Sundance Film Festiva in Park City, Utah, doing their own kind of networking (and, failing that, resorting to Craigslist M4M).

I know, but that's what bugged me. "Not caring who was doing it"--even if it was a guy! Someone who likes anonymous sex shouldn't have had to spiraled to have sex with a guy.

Ah, but he DIDN'T bottom in that gay sex club, alas. The guy went down on him, remember? And then actually he had one last circle of queer sex hell to descend to by completing his sexual degradation with the two lesbians. And I liked (well, appreciated) the film, but puhleeze.

I didn't say he bottoms. I said he bottoms out. Meaning he reaches rock bottom. Believe me, I know every frame and what it represents.

There was an interesting theory that based on the events, he just wanted to be in a dominant position not caring who was doing it (though some argue the guy who went down on him looked similar to the guy who beat him up, I need to see it again).

I actually liked J Edgar but thought Beginners and Dragon Tattoo were vastly overrated. Can't wait for the nominations Tuesday.

It was indeed a sicko year for gays in cinema. Can't wait to hear your thoughts.
