Sandra Bernhard Turned Down Sex and the City

• I've never watched Sex and the City but I think she made a good decision. We know who she is and there is no "from Sex and the City" following her name. Anyway, she's great, funny, talented, and sexy. I would think that she's able to do what she wants without a lot of compromise. That's really success. I know "only $7,500 a week" sounds like she's spoiled, but she might be talking about "only" in comparison to what stars on television make.

• She's nuts, I liked SATC from the first episode, it was different, it was funny, it had a great cast and locations.  No one could've played Miranda as well as Cynthia Nixon, she was perfect.  Loved Sandra on "Roseanne" (who is getting a new primetime NBC series "Downwardly Mobile").

• I know. People always say "I turned that down" when in reality it was just a discussion, not a firm offer.

• Did you confirm this with anybody?  I have a feeling the most it was was that someone called her agent and asked her to audition.

• Right, but her career would be in a WAY different place now and she could have gotten tons of endorsements and side jobs (as Howard points out).

• Well, well, well she does have a brain in her head. (That's not all about money and faux-fame). The script was horrible, the show was predictable and horrible. RIP NYC. 'Classic' is not a word I'd ever use to describe SATC.
