"The War On Religion" Is Bullshit!

At the Republican debate on Saturday night, several candidates insisted that bigotry goes both ways, and in fact the Catholic Church is the object of steaming piles of it.

In the course of the debate, Rick Perry denounced "the war on religion" and Newt Gingrich fumed:

"Should the Catholic Church be forced to close its adoption services in Massachusetts because it won't accept gay couples, which is exactly what the state has done?

"Should the Catholic Church be driven out of providing charitable services in the District of Columbia because it won't give in to secular bigotry?

"Should the Catholic Church find itself discriminated against by the Obama administration on key delivery of services because of the bias and bigotry of the administration?"

In that one statement, nervy Newt made the church the receptacle of terrible "bigotry," "discrimination," "bias," and "bigotry" once again. Poor church!

But let's be clear here.

The church is bigoted.

They're the ones that practice bias and discrimination.

They started it!

Using a script that supposedly comes from directly on high, they've routinely bashed and oppressed gays for centuries (not to mention women), and they want a pass for it because it's the holy word, after all!

They want to be protected in their own discrimination because they've chosen to believe in some hateful fairy tale that excludes certain groups of perfectly innocent humans from equality, and they feel the need to foist it on those who've chosen not to believe it.

And so if anyone tries to stop them from practicing their skewed services while forcing them to be humane and equitable, they're called "bigots" waging a war on religion.

Oh, really?

Well, this little bigot can't wait to sign up.

Yes! And furthermore: the so-called 'Puritans' that everyone bangs on about did not go to America for religious freedom, they were practically forced there after acting just like these modern day looneys, taking over towns and harrassing people, and such. They were thrown out!

And the Catholics and Proddy's aren;t the only ones, as long as anyone - including Jews and Muslims, say they're 'God chosen people' no room is left. Hence the fury that follows.

Solution: Tax all churches, synagogues, mosques and the like for ANY activity that extends beyond the ability to gather for worship, or provide 'direct' care to its members. This is includes real estate (like Trinity Church) and political lobbying (Westboro and the Southern Baptist convention).

The gay community never said Franco Catholics can't marry, adopt, serve openly or be protected from arbitrary firings. We don't get to opt out of taxes paid to "religious" non profits that practice bigotry. Your advice should be turned around: The Catholic Church should start its own adoption agencies...meaning without public money. Instead the bigots decided to just shut their adoption agencies down rather than fund their own bigoted beliefs.

Everyone practices some form of bias, but the church wants it put into law (whether real or "holy") and if equal rights are passed into law, they want to circumvent that.
