Madonna's Lesbian Friends (And Gaga) Comment On Her Performance

Face it.

She did fine at the Super Bowl.

She led us through a pop-culture carnival involving gladiators, acrobats, cheerleaders, guest stars, lip-synching, a stumble, and a Wicked Witch of the West exit, followed by the rousing message of "Buy My Album," I mean, "World Peace."

(And after she ferociously seized back her moment, guess what music was playing when they returned to the game? Lady Gaga!)

Anyway, the whole world was buzzing about the performance like a blood-red vibrator.

And here's what Madge's lesbian funny-lady friends had to say about it on Twitter:

Rosie O'Donnell: "Madonna=perfect"

Sandra Bernhard: "World peace has arrived!"

Sandra Bernhard: "Nothing says Madonna like Bridgestone! I know she loves a good tire."

And how about some non-lesbians.

Patton Oswalt: "Apparently Madonna saw the movie 300 and thought, 'I can go gayer.'"

Michael Ian Black: "Joan Rivers did an amazing halftime show."

Bette Midler: "WORLD PEACE? Hilarious. But ditch the high heels next time."

NY1's Pat Kiernan: "Madonna show entertaining but overproduced. The lack of a 'live' sound takes away from the moment."

And as for Lady Gaga herself?

Well, on January 31, she tweeted: "Looking forward to seeing the Super Bowl. The half time show will be wonderful, I'm sure."

And last night, she wrote ... nothing!!!!

Sounds like a good review.

I have to wonder if Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson or (insert female singer name here) would not have sounded just as good with all the props and staging. It was more about the production than the music.

Madonna is shallow and superficial.  So of course gay men and women love her.

she was terrible. longest 12 minutes of my life! wicked witch of the west? thought it was more like lost in space. at that moment, for a second i jumped for joy cause i thought she disappeared forever (would never come back)! then i realized there was a malfunction somewhere. she really didn´t go away.MIA is sexy.madonna´s face didn´t look so madam--wayland flowers--the puppet. black and gold. not the look. she really re-inventioned herself. black is her color (more ways than 1).happy for mainstreamness. sell out.

Her show was entertaining. Major kudos to the production people for pulling it off. However, I was very surprised to see that at one point Madonna actually step behind those talentless, buffoons, LMFAO, and gave some air time to their horrid crap song..(and I don't give a shit that it was a mash-up; it sucks in any form). I'm only guessing she owes Berry Gordy some sort of payback since they are his spawn.......

Who gives a shit?  Just saying...

Ah whatever!! Janet Jackson didn't even bother to try to sing at her halftime show. Or prerecord vocals either. Straight off the CD. Madonna gave them what we wanted. which was an over the show that's gonna be hard to top next year. Well done!!

I heard the Gaga music too after the commercial .. lol...     Madonna did a fabulous 7 minute show .. it was Urban athletic (Glaadiator), and an amazing tribute to Liz/Cleopatraesque quality in the Beginning ...  as for the heels Ms. Midler .. if you look at a still shot which I can provide she I think cracked the right heels and it shows because it was going in which women know what that means when heels do that and the left one was straight and sturdy .. I love that she works her G-Spot in her performing .. something a few are still trying to find... xoxoxx :) World Peace xoxo

I loved her costume - beautiful black and gold Queen of the Night meets Gladiator. It's not like the half time shows are ever that great. I've seen Lady Gaga's HBO concert thing and I think Madonna actually puts on a better show.

Madonna was amazing! She is and always has been a great entretainer! She doesn't have a great voice, but she knows how to put on a show and get people out of their seats ... She came prepared to put a great halftme show, and that she did! She ended her performance with what she has always represented world peace, acceptance and one nation under all it's spiritual glory!

She was great and I hate Pop' music of all kinds.Whoever makes fun of her is a moron. Her showmanship istop drawer. She never said she was a great singer ,but she is a great entertainer ,even if you (like me) don't dig the music.Plus, she makes that 'thing' Lady (hardly) Ga Ga (embaressing to even say or write the stupid name) look like the trashy amature she is,and how crass her post -op Dale Boziofrom Missing Persons look is on her.Dale ,ur still cuter.N walking in L.A way cooler.

I didnt see Pat Kiernan talk about Lady gagas lip synched performance live from Times Square on New Years Eve,, that really killed the moment, yet nobody said anything about it,, or how horrible it was.. Anyway,, It would have been nice to hear Madonna since at least one song live last night,, but she didnt, but given the spectacle of the show and how past Halftime performers like even ZZTOP lip synched, let it slide.... She did great and what female at halftime did better? Best Female Performance at SUperbowl HAlftime,,

It wasn't the disaster I thought it was going to be.  However, it did seem to be over-the-top Testosterone driven (like "300" on stereoids), but I guess she had to please the beer crowd at home.  Roman soldiers aside, it made me miss the version of "Vogue" she did at the MTV Awards in 1991, Louis XV-style.  And at the 6'30 mark, when the cheerleaders came in, well, I heard Toni Basil's "Mickey" from 1982.   Best part was the lights and video coordination (pity the people on the front-row seats at the 50-yard-line!).   Enjoyed her "Elvis Has Left the Building" finale.

Why did you skip all the celebs who were raving about it? I loved Patton Oswalt's joke and the tire joke was good, too.

Madonna IS and will always will be the queen of pop. She doesn't try to fool herself or others about her age. Don't know if the younger generation fully appreciates or understands the importance of the niche she carved out for a generation of fans and other pop artists. She advanced and propelled homosexual visibility into the mainstream. She remains relevant in popular music. Having grown up with her through her music, she feels like an old friend.

By starting off with Vogue, Madge brought to mind Julie Brown's Medusa character performing Vague and Party in My Pants.

Well, Madge is from Detroit, so naturally she likes a good tire.

Rosie's comment was certainly a rave, which he included.

But yeah, Reba McIntire loved it.
