William Shatner's On Broadway?

Categories: Theater

No, he's not just walking up and down the street.

He's actually in a show.

His own show, called Shatner's World: We Just Live In It.

I imagine he talks about his Twilight Zone episode with the gremlin on the wing, the other one where he's dominated by a fortune-telling machine, his odd musicianship, which even tops Telly Savalas's for sheer collectibility ...

And oh yeah, there was that Star Trek thing.

But why imagine?

The reviews are out, and the Times one calls the evening "chatty, digressive, and often amusing."

Perhaps the most chatty, digressive, and amusing moment of all is the anecdote about Shatner understudying Christopher Plummer in a production of Henry V and having to go on in the role despite having had no rehearsal!

Talk about sci-fi!

But he's rehearsed Shatner's World a lot, I'm sure.

Says the actor himself:

"I've been refurbished. I hope the theater is, too."

Willy is fun and a good sport.  I loved that Twilight when he was having a fit over the fortune telling machine.  In that time period, pre-Star Trek, '60s, he was a delicious-looking piece of meat.  Another fave from that period was Robert Conrad who was in the Wild Wild West series on tv.  One of the best looking rear ends on tv.

Bravo, Melissa 9 .

In my book, you get points for hanging in there.

He's 80 years old - none of us will look like ourselves probably at 80.  I admire how he chugs along.

Wow MM, I hope no one dismisses u so easily. Mr Shatner has had a long successful career on Broadway, TV, movies and more.  Whether this show is good or not I will decide after seeing, but to dismiss this man is rather disappointing by u. Maybe when ur life is reviewed they will say... "He just wrote silly articles about pop culture", although I hope not....

He talks about death in the show, but does he address the death of his wife?

Is it just me or does he not look like William Shatner anymore? Check out the above trailer.

I wasn't being as sarcastic as that came off. I worship those two Twilight Zones and was serious about that. I was never a Trekkie, though.
