Harvey Weinstein Turned Down The President!

Everytime I see him on the street he looks like he wants to fuck me, just sayin'. 

Did someone not know that I regularly use humor and hyperbole in my work and have done so since day one?

Did someone think I really feel a movie mogul has more power than a President (though I feel movie moguls are pretty powerful, mind you--especially in MY life)?

Don't get your knickers in a twist, Montgomery. Lighten up, fer Crissakes.

Mr. Weinstein knows that Mr. Musto's column and blog are gossip/entertainment-oriented. And as such, humor is an important ingredient.

I support President Obama, too -- who wouldn't, given The Three Stooges as an alternative? --  but I have a sneaking suspicion that the President himself was being at least halfway humorous with his book suggestion.

This was ARROGANTLY DIRESPECTFUL of Mr. Weinstein to embarrass the President by relating that story. Mr. Weinstein just went down in my esteem gauge by conveying that. It was unnecessary and beneath him to do so and what purpose did it serve...to show the world what a "BIG SHOT he's become? Ahh, how we believe our own omnipotence and self importance! Plus, to compare what a movie mogul does, to what a President does everyday.....is just wrong! I hardly doubt the President expected Mr. Weinstein to act on his spy movie suggestion and especially to relate it to the media during his election year. If Mr. Weinstien has reportedly donated so much money to President Obama's campaign, then doesn't recanting useless trivia like that defeat and negate his own efforts, especially when everythiing nowadays is blown out of proportion and distorted in the media and on Twitter et al? "Pecking order", my a--! Remember, Mr. Weinstein's power is, as is the President's, derived from "We The People" and if "We The People" choose not to watch his films anymore...then Harvey who?? There are so many other moguls who have his power, who wouldn't have embarrassed the President in this fashion. Speilberg, Geffen, Diller, etc. Mr. Weinstein you are not the only game in town...although I do like your movies, but how about not being so full of yourself...Remember when John Lennon was misquoted for stating that the "Beatles were bigger than Jesus"?,.. this kinda' reminds me of that brand of self-important arrogance! Good point. I bet it would be a great movie. He should just film it, even if he didn't read it. It's not like Obama pitches movies every five minutes.
