Feud Update! Rosie versus Lindsay! Cusack versus Sidibe!

First Gabourey Sidibe revealed that before she made it big, she ran into one of her idols, Joan Cusack, but Cusack wasn't so comforting.

In fact, Cusack told Sidibe to get out of the biz because it's so image-conscious!

That's bizarre because Cusack herself is an unconventional type who has done well (two Oscar nominations)--though maybe she was just saying it as a reflection of the biases in the biz, in an attempt to protect Gabby from potential disappointment.

In any case, it's a good thing the future Precious and C Word star didn't listen.

I'm sure you've also heard about the other intergenerational showbiz war of words.

Rosie O'Donnell blogged that Lindsay Lohan isn't right for the role of Liz Taylor in the upcoming Lifetime movie, and she needs a lot of help and time away before she can start acting again.

Lindsay bristled that Rosie should shut the heck up, later saying, "I know that I'm great, and I know that I know Liz Taylor really well."

I thought it was Marilyn she was obsessed with.

In any case, Lindsay's response was good, but I still agree with Rosie that more time off is needed before attempting more spotlight grabbing.

Respect your elders, Lindz--don't just keep saying "I know"!

There was some bleating last week about Rosie O'Donnell being considered for the Miss Hannigan role in the "Annie" revival. That is, until someone realized she'd be better suited as the replacement for the replacement of the real star should the show achieve a longtime run.

For goddsakes.....Lindsay's movie concerns only the time period when Liz was married to Richard Burton. It will be aired, get boffo ratings (attracting the same viewers who helped the Kardashian family make $65 million last year) and be, like LiLo's Playboy spread, quickly forgotten.

Lindsay's Liz will be fabulous. Her career will rise from the ashes just like a phoenix - or Robert Downey Jr.

These kids are all pikers.  Wake me when there are new developments in the Olivia de Havilland - Joan Fontaine Feud, now well into its eighth decade...

Hope she can do Liz justice.  She's got a lot of talent and she's pretty, but maybe too reckless to keep track of herself.

Oh, gosh, this is beginning to sound like the plot line(s) of "SMUSH."

It may be a surprise to you, Michael, but Lindsay started channelling Liz for photo shoots long before she (and you) donned Marilyn drag.

Can't all us bitches just get the hell along together? Jeez!

Lindsay should offer Rosie a cameo as the John Warner-era fat, fat, fattie. chicken bone-chokin' Liz.

Joan's stalled career could maybe use a little push from Gabourey. (Although I don't know if Gabourey is capable of giving a "little" anything.")

See? By thinking only good thoughts and finding that little bitty, teensy-weensy bit of good in everyone. we turn those frowns upside down.

Ooh I love me a good intergenerational feud. And there's two of them. Yay!

It does surprise me. She's not the Liz type (though they were both former child stars).

another bad TV movie (remember the mid-90s one?). Liz doesn't deserve a crappy Lifetime movie, a big screen biopic with Kate Winslet as La Taylor and Christian Bale as Burton would be more worthy.

Can't be any worse than her posing as Grace Kelly for Vanity Fair.
