Jeremy Renner: I'm Not Gay! It's Not F--king True!

Jeremy Renner, the star of the Oscar-winning The Hurt Locker, is hurt.

Renner -- who's coming up in The Avengers -- wants some vengeance.

He tells The Hollywood Reporter about the gay rumors that have circled him for years:

"I want my personal life to be personal, and it's not f--king true.

"And I don't care if you're talking about things that are true, you're still talking about my personal life."

Huh? So it's not true and it's nobody's business? And even if it is true, it's nobody's business?

"How about I go peek in your window," adds Renner, "take what underwear you wore last night, whose husband you were f--king, and shove that in the megaphone throughout your neighborhood? How does that feel? It's none of your goddamn business."

I have no problem with that, actually -- and I'm not even that famous.

Anyway, in the same interview -- relayed to me by E!'s Marc Malkin -- Renner remembers being in a bar when a guy called him the f-word for wearing a scarf.

"Then he shoved my sister," says Renner, "and I got behind him and I choked him out -- put him to sleep."

Oh, you did? Oh, OK. You're straight!!!!

The way his comments came out may have turned off potential movie goers of his films.  Even though I get that he's tired of the speculation and gossip. There is a better way to address it without coming off like an *ss.  Jodie Foster never discusses it or addresses it and gets by just fine.  Ignore it and focus on your work.  If it weren't for these movie viewers he wouldn't have got paid 5 million for Bourne Legacy.

Calm down, peoples. This is all PerezHilton's fault. Nothing he said was homophobic at all, he just seems to really hate life in the spotlight and who can blame him? He hasn't responded to these rumours in... ever, and he's probably pretty tired of it all, so he got pissed. And who cares, gay/straight, makes no difference, he's just an incredibly talented actor and that's all that matters.

I am gay, which is for me a good thing, but  look  some gays love these sleazy outings, which is sad in a way because it can imply that we gloat over them..   Its like saying  "see he's gay also so i'm not so bad"    I personally dont think he is gay and not every one is capable of having the correct or right reaction to a particular accusation. I like his work and from what i have observed in interviews, seems like a good guy, happy to have gotten a brake. He should not have to say what he is one way or another.

And all the peeking and bullhorns would end if he simply said "I'm gay," then moved on.

Wants to be cool about being suspected of gayness but doesn't want to be known as gay. Wants his sexuality in the closet but doesn't want that sexuality to be of, you know, that type. Wants to be a movie star but doesn't want to be treated like a movie star. Wants a world where we can all believe these sweeping magic declarations of his wholesomeness but doesn't want to return to the Middle Ages.

Now what I really want right now's a pizza. Or just anything less boring.

Peeking in someone's window and then announcing on a bullhorn what you saw is a little different than acknowledging yourself as gay (which seems to be the big scary taboo amongst the A/B listers in Hollywood even in 2012).

He's a good actor with a face that will propel him to character parts rather than the leads he's trying for.

He did play Jeffrey Dahmer in DAHMER and was quite brilliant.

Completely the opposite of George Clooney's classy response to his own rumors. "I think it’s funny, but the last thing you’ll ever see me do is jump up and down, saying, ‘These are lies!’ That would be unfair and unkind to my good friends in the gay community.  I’m not going to let anyone make it seem like being gay is a bad thing.”“My private life is private, and I’m very happy in it. Who does it hurt if someone thinks I’m gay? I’ll be long dead and there will still be people who say I was gay. I don’t give a sh*t.”

it may be true. it might not be true and NO it is not anyone else's business. But you can't stop people from talking about you ( gossiping).denying the gay rumors so vehemently only makes people talk more.

"Methinks the lady doth protest too much."  -- especially when they play the "it's my personal life" BS and how it's nobody's business.  That's always a red herring.

is he taking his more-than-pal T. Cruise's advice on how to stay in the closet?

Homosexuals like this are really destroying Hollywood. They're so fussy and bossy, anal and sassy. Keep it in your pants, Jeremy! No one wants to see those half a dozen inches flopping around. I just think he's mentally sick in the brain.

I'm pretty sure I read when he got his first Oscar nom and people started noticing him more that he had bought a house in LA with another guy. plus he takes his mom to all the awards shows. :)

If he hates life in the spotlight, he should do independent film.  Not Mission Impossible 4 and taking over the Bourne movies.  All those movies are is SPOTLIGHT.

It says so right in the article. Not much of a reader? Never heard of Hurt Locker? (Oscar winner for Best Film). And the big summer movie The Avengers?
