Mitt Romney Endorses Straight Marriage!

The other day, President Obama finally said that same-sex marriage should be legalized, though he's leaving it up to the states blah blah.

Well, Mitt Romney just gave his own side of the argument in a speech at Christian Liberty University.

Romney had said that this tender subject wouldn't be a big issue in his campaign, but I guess he couldn't resist pandering to the haters when given half a chance.

And so he told them:

"Marriage is a relationship between one man and one woman."

I guess because of his Mormon background, Romney couldn't have just said "between men and women."

He had to specify one man and one woman.

But however you phrase it, his statement is completely weird!

Not only is it incredibly small minded and hypocritical, considering the way so many heteros have pissed on the sacred marital institution, but he conveniently ignores the fact that six states already allow same-sex marriages!

Is Romney saying that those states don't exist and that gay marriage never happened there?

Scary shit.

Do we want a President who denies advances that have already been achieved in the country (and the world) in favor of his own loony fictions and fantasies?

Will he next give a speech extolling the relationship between "one slave and one master"?

He's deeply in the Mormon track (loony fictions and fantasies).

Wasn't it right after the FLDS Mormon "parents" in Texas had their 400+ kids taken away because they couldn't figure out who the parents were that the Mormon's ramped up their efforts in underwriting and promoting Prop 8 in California.  Magic 8 Ball says:  "You may rely on it."

This is where the hypocrisy of Mormonism shines.  This definition of marriage is between "one man and one woman" is false.  The Mormons believe in the afterlife that the man can have as many wives as he wants.  Yes, folks, polygamy.  The only reason Mormons got rid of it was because Congress demanded they end the practice if they wanted Utah to achieve statehood.  Mormon leaders promptly declared a revelation, and Utah became a state in 1896.  Romney's grandparents (maybe great-grandparents) fled to Mexico, right across the border (Colonia Juárez and similar communities), to continue practicing polygamy.  Romney's father was actually born in Mexico because of this little slip-away-from-the-law.

I think the polygamy absurdity was covered in he blog above.

Looks like it'll be a while until the real battle begins: between the gay and straight monogamists and the free sex radicals. The anti-same-sex marriage lunkheads are totally clueless about who their allies really are. Much like the Christians of long ago who couldn't imagine non-whites as their most fanatic church members - and whose descendants now mobilize for their worst bible-based assaults! (And just what is it with people of color who do the bidding of the same institutions that once justified their oppression? Like women devoted to abusive spouses.)

You really must be careful!  "RACIST!" is a term people love to scream at bloggers.

Hannah Hood Hill, Mitt Romney's Great Grandmother, was involved in Same Sex Marriage with four other females on a Commune in Mexico, plus the addition of the Sperm-and-Name Donor, Miles Park Romney. There is not the slightest bit of doubt that these facts are true.

Hannah Hood Hill was lawfully, by LDS church blessing, married to Caroline "Carrie" Lambourne, Catharine Jane Cottam, Alice Marie "Annie" Woodbury and Emily "Millie" Henrietta Eyring Snow.

The real problem is that straight guys think gay sex is gross, and they can't stop picturing it in their heads when they hear about two men getting married.

My good friend loves to show straight guys that gay sex isn't so gross.  He gets a lot of action!

I agree completely.  When any person or group becomes more present, people are forced to feel something when they see them.  Whether it's a mixed race couple, an older-younger couple, piercings, purple hair, etc.  When they see two men or two women kiss, or imagine gay sex, anything in them that's unresolved will activate.

Straight guys who can't stop picturing gay sex are not straight.

True, but married people never have sex.

PS: He was governor of Massachusetts when same-sex marriage was approved there! But he still acts like it doesn't (or shouldn't) exist. So much for being a law abiding citizen.

Oh that Romney. What a visionary. Not.
