Multiple AltWeekly Nominations For The Village Voice

Categories: Media

Our piping hot alternative weekly publication nabbed no fewer than four AltWeekly awards, so I have to congratulate the whole organization--bravo, bravo--and applaud the nominees....

Art director John Dixon

Writers Camille Dodero and Rosie Gray

And a little old columnist named me.

Just being nominated is honor enough, blah blah blah, but I'm preparing a 40-minute speech just in case.

Congratulations to all, and especially you, Mikey!  You are without a doubt my fave columnist in the Voice and a true NY presence.

Congrats, Michael! Hope you had a successful resolution to your bike-and-jacket issue last night. :)

I don't get it. La Dolce Musto's competing with columns from Detroit and Pittsburgh? I'm not even US-based anymore and all I read from the old country's LDM! I can't remember how long it's been since I peeked at NY Times, and it's been years since I checked out NY Press ... and that's it for print publications as far as I'm concerned. Either those other columns are undiscovered gems (but not really - I peeked too) or they needed to find other nominees from somewhere, anywhere, to create the semblance of a competition.

Well, there's good journalism all over the country.

There's good journalism all over the world. Unfortunately I've got only so much time, so it's always only the best for me. Maybe when I retire I'll try reading less books and more journ.

Gee thanx. Or should that go, Jesus, thank you. Great to see someone who isn't bored with themselves. Oh wait....

"Fewer" books.

Less with abstract singular words, fewer with concrete plural words.

Less hope, less fun, less money.

Fewer errors, fewer homophobes, fewer grammar-manglers.
