Rashida Jones: "Come Out, John Travolta!"

I knew I liked this woman.

She's the daughter of Quincy Jones and Peggy Lipton.

She's a writer/movie star (currently promoting the amiable Celeste and Jesse Forever).

And in an interview where she speaks with writer/actor Will McCormack on topics like the need for more out gay stars, here's what Rashida has to say:

"A movie star. Like John Travolta? Come out! Come on. How many masseurs have to come forward? Let's do this."

Very efficient, this gal.

Forgive me, but I don't want John Travolta in the tribe any more than I wanted Roy Cohn.

Stay in the closet, John.  Buy another wife, throw another litter, do what you gotta do, but stay way, way back amongst the mothballs and don't presume to claim to be anything like me.

Update: She apologized and took it back, saying it was none of her business. Not surprised. Celebs generally don't say honest, potentially controversial things these days--very rarely.

Couldn't agree more. Go grab Tom Cruise and let your freak flag fly. @mikeymusto
